Berkel & Company Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician for our regional office located in Silver Spring, MD. This field-based position will support projects related to Auger Pressure Grouted Piling, Displacement Piling, Driven Piling, Pressure Grouting, Sheeting and Shoring, Ground Improvement and Micro Piling located across the Mid-Atlantic. This position ensures all required layout and as-builts for a given project are performed accurately and promptly to support Berkel’s ongoing projects. Our survey technicians are expected to have competent technical knowledge and strong attention to detail.
This position offers the opportunity for growth into quality control supervisory roles.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Compute coordinates for use in layout.
- Perform field layout and as-builts.
- Preparation of detailed as-built reports.
- Coordinate with project managers and superintendents to ensure accurate and timely completion of survey tasks.
- Perform analysis of survey data and assist in the resolution of any discrepancies in measurements or documentation.
- Review and cross checking of shop drawings and contract drawings, including but not limited to structural, architectural, and civil drawings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
- Professional Land Surveying License preferred but not required.
- 2+ years’ experience as a Survey Technician or in a similar role.
- Experience in preparing survey documents and conducting fieldwork.
- Experience with industry software, including but not limited to, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to utilize survey equipment and technology effectively.

Summary/Objective
To provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regard to quality of work or scheduling.
Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.

General Summary of Position
Oversees the operation of the Boilers and Chiller Plant and associated equipment ensuring the efficient operation during assigned shift. May be required to lead or assist with regular maintenance or emergency repairs to the boilers chillers and/or related equipment.

In this high visibility role, you’ll serve as Teledyne’s subject matter expert for Jurisdiction & Classification (JC), driving global consistency and strengthening our compliance posture worldwide. You’ll shape how advanced technologies move across borders, influence product design, ensure global compliance, and act as the authoritative JC voice across a large, diverse, and innovative technology portfolio. As part of the Corporate International Trade Compliance (CITC) team, you will report to the Chief Trade Compliance Counsel, manage a Corporate Compliance Engineer, and provide indirect leadership to a global net
work of JC Focals.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and enhance Teledyne’s global JC program, providing clear guidance to engineering, product, manufacturing, marketing, and business development teams.
- Monitor U.S. and non U.S. export control regulations and proactively implement holds, updates, and required license adjustments.
- Lead the development, implementation, and training for all JC and technology control processes, tools, and workflows.
- Engage and manage the worldwide JC Focal community through outreach, webinars, workshops, and roster maintenance.
- Maintain and update corporate JC policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Supervise the quality of JC determinations completed across business units.
- Prepare Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) requests via the DECCS portal with CITC review.
- Provide regular JC metrics and reporting to CITC leadership.
- Support investigations, disclosures, M&A due diligence, integration, and other Trade Compliance initiatives.
- Assist Trade Compliance Leads during audits and help drive corrective actions.
- Present at Teledyne’s annual Trade Compliance conference and attend external SME training.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 20%, with more travel initially).
What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 8+ years of directly related experience in export controls and JC determinations.
- Strong experience performing structured Orders of Review for JC self determinations or formal requests.
- Deep working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, U.S. Customs regulations, OFAC, and preferably non U.S. export control regimes; experience with Harmonized Systems (HS) classifications a strong plus.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and write clear reports, procedures, and business communications.
- Comfortable presenting to and advising cross functional stakeholders.
- Experience with Global Trade Management platforms and/or ERPs with Trade Compliance functionality.
- Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR (U.S. citizen, permanent resident meeting ITAR criteria, asylee, or qualifying U.S. incorporated entity employee).

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Project Manager with strong industry knowledge to oversee projects from order entry through product shipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design reviews and coordinate project details with sales, engineering, and production teams.
- Review project specifications and sales orders, working with customers to clarify or adjust project requirements.
- Hold project review and follow-up meetings to track progress and coordinate testing and delivery.
- Document part requirements and communicate with vendors to track lead times and delays.
- Support factory inspections, quality checks, and internal or customer testing.
- Help improve project flow by simplifying construction and standardizing products and components.
- Coordinate project delivery and required documentation for customer sites.
- Create and manage project documents, schedules, submittals, and manuals.
- Communicate with customer representatives and executives throughout the project life cycle.
- Gather and act on customer feedback to improve project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, or related technical field
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution equipment required
- Experience using ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
- This position is an onsite role, enabling effective coordination and partnership with key stakeholders including Procurement, Scheduling, and Finance
- Travel: Ability to travel to supplier and customer sites at reasonable notice to support strong partnerships, in-person collaboration, and a shared understanding of needs and priorities; Able to travel up to 30% per month
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Business or Engineering (e.g., MBA, MS, or equivalent)
- PMP certification or formal project management training
- Experience with engineered-to-order or manufacturing environments
- Understanding of UL, NEC, and industry standards
- Experience coordinating FATs, field testing, or commissioning activities
