Job Summary
The Materials Planner II supports planning and purchasing activities for field service materials and new product introductions. This position partners closely with customer service, supply chain, and engineering teams to maintain inventory balance, support production demands, and proactively manage material risks.
Responsibilities
• Plan and purchase field service parts for key customers, partnering closely with customer service to minimize shortages while meeting service-level expectations
• Manage and balance Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), including monitoring demand trends, failure rates, recall events, and customer requests
• Ensure all part substitutions are properly communicated, documented, and approved by customers as required
• Review forecasts and develop long-term material planning strategies to support field service and production needs
• Drive purchasing activity to support demand for field service or production materials
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials and NPI finished goods through product development and release stages
• Track production volume and monitor customer demand patterns to proactively address supply risks

Job Summary:

- CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Clearly understand all documents that make up the "Contract Documents” and enforce/manages the documents.
- AGREEMENTS: Prepare and ensure that scope descriptions are complete, well-coordinated, and issued timely.
- SAFETY: Ensure that the project site is safe and that the Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) is implemented comprehensively, and all Bernards safety procedures are being followed.
- FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Manage all project financial reporting processes, including overseeing all budgets, contracts, invoices, payment applications, and change order requests.
- RISK MANAGEMENT: Identify areas of risk and plans to address them.Ensure proper insurance is in place and that the project is in full compliance with all Bernards risk management policies.
- QA/QC: Manage the Bernards Quality Management Manual (QMM) outlining quality policies, standards and procedures, ensuring the project meets or exceeds the quality standards of our clients.
- SCHEDULING: Create and update the project schedule collaboratively with the Superintendent(s) to develop accurate and detailed project schedules.
- DOCUMENT CONTROL: Ensure that all document control procedures are being followed.
- REPORTING: As applicable to the project requirements, create the monthly reports for financial status, project status, schedule status, client reporting, etc.
- CLOSEOUT: Manage and oversee all closeout, including final submittals, punch list, as-builts, warranties, and final payments.

Preferred Experience, Education, and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- Over 7 years of construction industry experience managing projects from start-up to completion.
- DSA/Public Works experience is preffered.
- Project experience ranging from $15M – $90M.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Project planning and execution, budgeting and cost control, team leadership and collaboration, and quality assurance and safety compliance on assigned projects.
- Develop project, schedule and monitor project milestones and effectively schedule appropriate employees and contractors (with strong support from the Superintendent) for best quality work in timely fashion.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Contribute to pre-construction phase including scheduling, constructability review, estimating, bidding, and interfacing with our in-house design department.
- Prepare necessary documentation, such as RFIs, submittals, subcontracts, change orders, etc.
- Serve as primary point of contact for the Superintendent, consultants, contractors, and others as appropriate to each project.
- Effectively motivate and manage in-field managers and subs for timely project completion.
- Lead the buyout process for your assigned project(s). Negotiate with subcontractors.
- Communicate project milestones to stakeholders at regularly scheduled meetings and as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend all design and construction meetings, such as Post-Award Kickoff (PAK).
- Support the Superintendent in resolving in-field challenges with construction or personnel issues.
- Coordinate building structure as well as related aspects (e.g., mechanical, plumbing, electrical) with subcontractors and related personnel.
- Prepare and present a Monthly Project Review report.
- Certify and sign statement on each invoice that all work to be paid under the invoice has been completed in accordance with contract requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, building construction, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in construction management overseeing multiple, concurrent projects as a Project Engineer, PM, or equivalent role.
- MUST HAVE proven background in Federal and/or Military construction projects
- Knowledge of the FARS is preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal procedures is preferred.
- EM 385 USACE Certification preferred.
- PMP or CCM certification is preferred
- Experience in both civil/ horizontal and building/ vertical construction
- Demonstrated experience in mid-level construction management on commercial, public works, or government construction projects.
- Communication skills will be subject to assessment in both verbal and written form—business correspondence as well as ad-hoc in-field communication will both be strong demands in this position
Technical Skills

Description
Position Summary
The program manager is responsible for the execution of one or more simultaneous products according to their Product Life Cycle. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. • Maintain and update weekly KPI charts for Tuesday management reports, providing analysis and insights while the Manager presents. Transition ownership of additional metrics (supply cancellations, pull-ins, pushouts, NCR, etc.) from Manager to Supervisor over time.
• Develop and monitor aftermarket production plans, budgets, and schedules in line with aerospace requirements and plant capacity. Proactively identify risks or delays and implement corrective actions to protect customer commitments.

Candidate skills & requirements
Education: BS/BA degree required from an accredited university
Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive planning, scheduling and inventory management experience in aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing environment with the ability to lead and influence others, with 2+ years of the 7 years in a planning leadership position
Computer Skills:

What You Will Do
* Act as Owner's Representative on projects from concept through construction at the Disneyland Resort. Project types will include shops, rides, hotels, shows, maintenance facilities, and nearly any built facility and area development found on our property.
* Manage the design and development of contract documents of projects with in-house and outside resources to meet project scopes, schedules and budgets.
* Develop concepts and Request for Proposals (RFP)s.
* Attend, participate, and problem solve during site visits from concept through construction.

What We Look For
* 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, HVAC/DX/VRF/CHW applications, central plant development and operational guidance, hydraulics, hydronics, compressed air, overall kitchen designs and implementation.
* Ability to support project partners in procurement and construction.
* Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, ACC, and other engineering-based software.
* Working knowledge of both National and Local Standards and Codes.
Required Education and Licensure
* BS Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university.
