POSITION SUMMARY
The Preconstruction Director serves as a key member of each project team. The successful candidate will lead McCarthy’s team efforts to provide preconstruction services to our clients. Depending on the specifics of the project, may be the primary day-to-day contact of the owner and the design team with McCarthy during the preconstruction period.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in interviews and interview preparation for negotiated bids.
- Assists the Marketing Department in preparation of responses to RFP’s and RFQ’s.
- Provides value alternative solutions taking into consideration cost, schedule, maintenance, and life cycle cost implications. Oversees value alternate preparation from subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Fills in design gaps for incomplete documents for the completion of estimates. Ensures estimating department has most current design information in the preparation of estimates.
- Prepares and submits contract documents for legal and risk reviews
- Prepares qualifications and assumptions that align with the contractual requirements of the project.
- Assists in the prequalification process.
- Leads internal McCarthy estimate review and bid process team meetings.
- Acts as “Bid Captain” on pursuits, particularly those projects with a preconstruction period after award, such as a Design-Build pursuit.

Network Security Engineer
Contract through 1/31/27 w/ option to extend

We’re seeking a Network Security Engineer to join a cybersecurity engineering and operations team focused on protecting and supporting large‑scale enterprise environments. In this role, you’ll design, deploy, and manage critical network‑security infrastructure while partnering closely with internal teams to ensure secure and reliable operations.
What You’ll Achieve
As a Network Security Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining network‑security technologies and providing advanced support for security infrastructure across the organization.
You Will:
- Participate in and report on cybersecurity projects and customer engagements.
- Design, deploy, maintain, and manage network‑security infrastructure.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for security devices, including firewalls and related technologies.
- Execute tasks and changes related to security network infrastructure.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation (approximately one weekend every six weeks).
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in network security.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL).
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies.
- Experience with security processes and documentation.
Desirable Requirements
- Familiarity with network fundamentals and firewall technologies.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCCSA, PCNSA, PCNSE, CISSP, etc.
