McLean is looking for a Dredge Project Manager to join our growing Dredge Division team in Chesapeake, VA.
Dredge Project Managers have profit/loss and overall responsibility for each project they are assigned to, and work in tandem with Project Superintendents, Engineers and the Construction/Operations/Division Manager(s) to ensure projects are successfully completed safely, on time and on budget. They collaborate with field supervisors on a daily basis and act as the Company's primary point of contact when communicating, negotiating or trouble-shooting contractual, commercial or technical issues with the Owner. DPMs also work closely with the Construction/Operations/Division Manager(s) to coordinate and develop the careers of field supervisors on their projects, as well as write and approve purchase orders and subcontracts, develop the budget, and regularly update cost and revenue projections for their projects. DPMs actively participate in means and methods, safety planning, project scheduling, and budgeting in the construction and pre-construction phases.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Understands the importance of maintaining horizontal and vertical control of underwater grades (dredge templates), pay verses non-pay quantities, the use of hydrographic surveys to monitor job progress and billings, and has the ability to read & review these surveys and bucket files to ensure efficiency of dredge operations.
Actively manages project personnel and the layout, function, and appearance of the project sites.
When not based in a field office, regularly visits jobsites of assigned projects to coordinate with field supervisors to optimize project operations and ensure projects are completed in conformance with contract requirements.
Possesses capability to read, review, and interpret procedures, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
Performs and is proficient in geometrical and mathematical calculations.
Displays high proficiency in basic computer systems and software including dredging software and hydrographic surveys.
Writes, reviews, and negotiates contracts for material purchases and subcontracting services with pricing and terms favorable to McLean.
Holds responsibility for project administration, cost and revenue forecasting, cost estimating, construction planning, means and methods evaluations, project scheduling, material procurement, subcontracting, change orders, quality control, and job site safety.
Interfaces bid cost data from estimating software into accounting/project management software to set up project budget prior to project work and ensures that project costs are properly accounted for during work.
Develops CPM project schedules with input from Estimators and the Project Superintendent.
Coordinates with minority and small businesses to ensure compliance with contract requirements concerning their participation in the project.
Identifies extra work situations, provides timely notice to the owner and seeks recovery of costs.
Identifies potential delays and implements strategies to mitigate them.
Provides document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI's, etc.
Coordinates with site supervision to ensure proper management of subcontractors and vendor material deliveries.
Provides oversight for progress entry, schedule updates, subcontractor payments, and owner invoices initiated by site supervision.
Assists in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts.
Possesses knowledge of relevant dredge equipment, materials, and means and methods.
Monitors safety, schedule and cost and makes necessary adjustments to operations in support of established goals, budgets, and contract requirements.
Education and/or Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology and 5 years of related experience. A combination of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in dredging, heavy civil and marine construction, and cost estimating is highly valued.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work and able to pass a physical. Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

The Prime general contractor on the $200M Naval Medical Center renovation in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a full-time Project Manager to lead relationships with trade partners. The Project Manager will work hand in hand with the Senior Project Manager and will play a crucial role in the process accountability, planning, and accountability of both the trade partners and handle the majority of the admin duties of the Project Management team towards the owners rep (USACE). This position is on site at the project site, in a multiple trailer fully covered facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Administrative project execution: planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting
- Managing and assessing subcontractor performance, safety, quality control, and compliance
- Planning meetings, holding trade partners accountable
- Driving the schedule from a higher level, allowing the Superintendent to fill the gaps in the field
- Cost-loaded scheduling (Microsoft Project/Primavera P6), documentation (Procore/RMS)
- Design reviews, constructability assessments, value engineering

Position Summary: The Production Engineer is responsible for supporting plant operations in meeting daily KPIs by providing troubleshooting, rapid problem solving, and process improvements. The Production Engineer will develop strategies for projects to improve plant performance. Also provides operator training by developing, maintaining and conducting training programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Improve the baseline value of key area metrics toward entitlement values (or beyond entitlement values where possible).
- Troubleshoot area process issues and de-bottleneck systems to maintain safety and environmental compliance and/or maximize production
- Ensure daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded
- Implement robust control plans for process improvement projects by fully utilizing DCS (distributed control system) capabilities
- Responsible for accurate production recording and OEE/Utilization calculations
- Report process conditions and upsets to management
- Monitor production in terms of quality, yield throughout cycle times, process parameters, and safety and environmental regulations

The base compensation for this role is $69,000 to $103,700 annually.

The Application Administrator acts as an administrator for HRT’s enterprise software systems in the realm of Intelligent Transportation Systems and plays an important role in technical software support and implementations.
This person has responsibility for working with Application Services and IT team to ensure enterprise applications operate in a manner that enables HRT staff to meet organizational goals for increased ridership and improved operational efficiency.
This person must take a broad, cross-departmental view of the organization, understand transit, organizational and departmental policies, processes and procedures to leverage system capabilities and promote effective use of the enterprise applications to meet organization goals and needs Essential Job Functions: (Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.) Work with Application Services team in the technical support of enterprise applications and databases.
Identify and resolve systems issues.
Work with the system users to understand, resolve, document, and ensure proper follow-up to issue resolution.
Collaborate with network and server infrastructure teams when troubleshooting issues.
Monitor application performance and uptimes.
Document modifications to software and hardware configuration and related procedures.
Serve as contact/liaison between functional users, vendors, and Application Services team.
Provide application-level technical support, bridging the gap between the user and Application Services team.
Work with system vendors to resolve issues as needed.
Provide recommendations to Application Services team on departmental needs related to applications for additional training, report customizations, system enhancements, upgrades, etc.
Application user and profile management.
Maintain plans and processes to ensure system availability.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
Collaborate with Application Services and other teams in activities associated with system implementation, maintenance, and upgrade activities.
Develop an in-depth knowledge of public transportation definitions and terminology by utilizing various resources like APTA, TCRP, FTA, and NTD.
Maintain records created and received in compliance with the Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policy and Procedures.
Performs on-call duties on rotation schedule as per established policies.
Performs all other related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills essential to Job Functions: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent computer skills required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Working knowledge of enterprise applications, databases, terminology, processes, and an understanding of software application system concepts.
An understanding of transit scheduling concepts and operations dispatch functions is strongly desired.
Direct experience administering transit-specific applications such as HASTUS, TransitMaster, and Enterprise Asset Management System is strongly desired.
Experience using GIS/mapping programs such as ESRI ArcGIS, MapInfo, and geospatial analysis functions desired; experience administering ESRI applications preferred.
Experience using Crystal Reports, MS Excel and other report generation tools is desired.
Knowledge of SQL.
Ability to work independently and use good judgment in decisions affecting application administration.
Required Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions: Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential.
Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected.
Software applications: HASTUS, CAD/AVL (Computer Aided Dispatch and Automated Vehicle Location), Enterprise Asset Management, Crystal Reports Safety Responsibility: Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm.
Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies.
Take an active part in reporting unsafe conditions and any hazards within the workplace to their Supervisor, Manager and/or the Safety Department.
Training and/or Education: BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems or Related Field.
Required Experience: Previous work experience in applications administration with emphasis on supporting transit specific applications such as HASTUS, TransitMaster, and Trapeze EAM.
A background in transit scheduling/planning/operations, information technology or intelligent transportation systems strongly preferred.
Licenses or Certificates: Possess a valid Driver's License.
Acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days after the date of hire (in instances when an out of state license is not the applicant's current state of residence).
