We’re honored to be selected by the Department of Energy to receive up to $22.3 million in investment supporting our Nexcast Mini Mill and other breakthrough projects which will steer the aluminum industry toward a greener, decarbonized future. The Maintenance Planner performs the following functions:
- Prioritizes any safety concerns and ensures safety protocols are followed in all situations.
- Acts as the liaison between Maintenance and all other departments in the facility.
- Develops and maintains open communications within area of responsibility and supported departments.
- Works to ensure close coordination between EHS, quality, operations, maintenance and engineering to ensure the right work is planned then scheduled to minimize future problems and unplanned downtime.
- Develops detailed Work Order job plans to “Ready to Schedule” status, providing all of the information, kitted parts, tools and methods to support efficient execution of work.
- Works closely with the craftspeople in the development of job plans.
- Conducts planning meetings as needed to ensure the Job Plan meets the customer’s needs.
- Develops a weekly schedule of planned maintenance work.
- Leads a weekly scheduling meeting to achieve agreement and alignment on the upcoming week’s scheduled work, including equipment availability for maintenance activities.
- Develops outage and down day scopes of work.
- Prepares and leads down day and outage planning and schedule review meetings.
- Manages the scheduling of all Preventive Maintenance Work Orders. (PM’s)

Assist permitting team members in developing pre-submittal documents.
Assist permitting team members in properly submitting construction drawings and associated information necessary to obtain all permits needed for construction.
Assist in tracking and organizing permit submittal statuses and permit projected dates.
Help respond to and track review comments and resubmit revised drawings as needed in a timely manner.
Coordinate with local and state level AHJs and General Contractors on change submittals and close out requirements and processes.
Interact with Client document systems and processes and obtaining Client approvals and signatures as needed in the permitting process.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE… We’re looking for self-starters and eager learners.
Beyond that, you’ll need… Associates degree preferred A minimum of 3 years prior work experience in building permit and site permit acquisition or entitlement preferred A general familiarity with facility construction and or architecture and engineering preferred Ability to read and understand construction drawings preferred A strong desire to learn in a fast pace environment Ability to research AHJ requirements by various methods such as internet, phone, and mail.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer Mule Vehicle Triage (E/E) to support our OEM customer in Novi, MI with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and issue resolution on Mule and early prototype vehicles.
This role is and requires strong hands-on experience with in-vehicle networks, data logging, and triage processes.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in vehicle communication networks, the use of Vector tools, and data logging systems, and is able to work independently onsite with the customer.
Key Responsibilities
Onsite Mule Vehicle Triage & Issue Resolution
- Perform structured troubleshooting of electrical and electronic issues
- Isolate and analyze faults in vehicle EE systems
- Support quick restoration of vehicle functionality
Vehicle Network Analysis & Diagnostics
- Work with CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet (incl. DoIP)
- Perform communication checks, trace analysis, and bus monitoring
Data Logging & Configuration
- Set up, configure, and operate various data loggers
- Validate logger configuration and evaluate recorded data
- Provide initial analysis and recommendations
Vector Tools & Hardware Operation
- Use CANoe, CANalyzer, and other Vector toolchain applications
- Operate Vector hardware modules (VN, VT, VX series)
- Run restbus simulations, trace evaluations, and diagnostics
General EE Technical Support
- Support flashing, coding, and update procedures (basic knowledge)
- Perform troubleshooting related to power supply, network communication, and diagnostics
Customer Interaction & Reporting
- Work closely with the Engineering Fleet Manager
- Communicate issues, findings, and technical assessments clearly
- Document triage steps, logs, and root-cause indications
Required Skills, Experience and Education
Strong understanding of Zonal EE Architectures
- Deep knowledge of vehicle communication protocols:
- CAN
- LIN
- FlexRay
- Automotive Ethernet (DoIP)
Hands-on experience with:
- Vector hardware & tooling (CANoe, CANalyzer)
- Data loggers including configuration
- EE troubleshooting and general vehicle diagnostic workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2 –5 years of related work experience
- Ability to manage triage steps independently (vehicle level)
- Fluent in English (technical communication)
- German language skills are a plus, but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Hands-on, practical approach
- Ability to work independently onsite with the customer
- Clear and structured communication
- High resilience under time pressure
