TWD is currently seeking an Intermediate Capital Cost Estimator in our Pittsburgh, PA office.

As an Intermediate Capital Cost Estimator you will support the preparation and analysis of capital cost estimates for projects across the oil & gas and infrastructure sectors. You will work closely with project teams to ensure accurate, timely, and well-documented estimates are delivered to support project planning, budgeting, and execution.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare quantitative estimates & estimate proposals for projects.
  • Intermediate user of Aspen Capital Cost Estimator would be an asset.
  • Using Aspen Economic Evaluation software, prepare multi-disciplined project estimates; prepare and manage cost estimates for all sizes of Energy projects, including Oil and Gas facilities, Pipelines, and Green Energy per AACEI guidelines.
  • Develop and coordinate estimate plans for projects of all size and complexity.
  • Provide bases of estimates and conduct CCE using the basis of estimate.
  • Present estimates for internal and client reviews, answer questions and confidently explain details.
  • Review and revise CCE policy and procedures with aim to increase accuracy and consistency of estimates.
  • Manage small team of supporting CCE staff and lead estimate reviews with project teams.
  • Provide input into business development activities as to the level of effort required to complete CCE scope.
  • Able to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Assist project services with project schedule development and updates.
Estimate Development
  • Prepare capital cost estimates in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Analyze engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Apply cost data, benchmarks, and historical information to support estimate development.
Project Integration
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate scope and align estimate assumptions.
  • Support the development of project cost baselines and change management processes.
  • Participate in estimate reviews and risk analysis workshops.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Develop and maintain estimate documentation including basis of estimate, assumptions, and cost breakdown structures.
  • Generate estimate summary reports and detailed cost breakdowns for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support periodic cost trending, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed.
Process Improvement
  • Contribute to the enhancement of estimating tools, templates, and databases.
  • Participate in lessons learned reviews to improve estimating practices across projects.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience using Aspen Cost Estimating.
  • 4-9 Years experience in capital estimating experience, in energy, oil and gas, pipeline and industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard estimating methodologies and practices.
  • Worked in Large & Small Projects.
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • AACE Certification is a benefit.
  • Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera would be an asset.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Currently A&P License required.
  • 3-5 years of previous experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, with working knowledge and practical experience with aircraft in our fleet highly desirable
  • A college degree with applicable focus preferred.
  • Highly organized with acute attention to detail accompanying good project and time management skills.
  • Expert level verbal, written, and computer skills while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Expert-level knowledge of 14 CFR Part 135 maintenance requirements and regulations.

As a Swiss Machinist your mission is to produce small, advanced precision components by owning the full setup-to-run process in our Swiss department. You'll ensure quality at the source, sustain throughput, and collaborate with teammates to keep work flowing smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and operate CNC Swiss machines to meet exacting tolerances and finish requirements.
  • Read/interpret blueprints and operation drawings; apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Use Mitsubishi controls to optimize programs and processes; adjust G-code/M-code as needed.
  • Employ precision gauges and instruments for in-process and final inspection.
  • Support production setups, tooling changes, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Document work, follow instructions, and partner across the team; perform other duties as assigned.
  • Use Mitsubishi controls to optimize programs and processes.
Education and Experience
  • 35 years setting up and operating Swiss CNC lathes (required) and/or Citizen machines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with GD&T, CNC tooling, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Mitsubishi controls; ability to read and edit programs (G-code/M-code).
  • High school diploma or GED; strong math and blueprint-reading skills.
  • Comfort installing/commissioning CNC equipment is beneficial.
  • Effective communicator who follows written and verbal directions; team contributor.
  • ITAR Registered and able to meet applicable compliance requirements.
