Perform combustion/process computation for furnace combustor and associated component performance, including heat transfer surface configurations and selection of pressure part arrangement and materials.

Develop steam generator performance guarantees and support commissioning and performance testing activities.

Develop material lists and engineering selections to meet customer requirements and provide required deliverables, collaborating and supporting the Project team.

Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute business strategy.

Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews, assuring proper documentation of technical data.

Use judgment to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.

Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.

Domestic travel to visit customer sites, less than 5%.

The Opportunity

You will join the Core Data Platform team, which builds and maintains a suite of tools powering over 2,100 data pipelines in production across MassMutual. The Team

The Impact

  • Design, develop, and improve build and deployment standards and processes (e.g., CI/CD, orchestration, scheduling) to accelerate delivery and ensure reliability of data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain core infrastructure to deliver scalable, robust, and highly available systems, directly supporting 12+ data engineering teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend emergent technologies, tools, processes, and reference architectures, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the design and development of new software components, enhancing platform capabilities.
  • Define version control best practices and automate enforcement where appropriate.
  • Improve monitoring and logging using technologies such as OpenTelemetry and New Relic, enhancing system observability and reducing downtime.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Cloud: 5+ years of experience working in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS) using infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform or CloudFormation to provision infrastructure.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Code: 2+ years of experience as a Python or Java developer.
  • Build & Deployment: Excellent understanding of build and continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., Github Actions, Artifactory).
  • Communication: Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

The Team

The Impact:

This role will work with the Wealth Management line of business delivery teams, engineers, application operations, product managers, and enterprise stakeholders to help deliver innovative, data-driven systems aimed at transforming the insurance industry. As part of the application architecture team, incumbents may be responsible for any of the following:

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and maintain the Technology strategies & roadmap focused on Wealth Management
  • Technical evaluations and benchmarking of core application platforms, frameworks and technologies
  • Specification and publication of standards around application design and software engineering best practices
  • Thought leadership and active participation in conferences and research with strategic partners and academic institutions

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related Technical degree

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related IT Architecture or IT consulting experience
  • Preferred job experience includes some knowledge of Insurance and Wealth Management
  • Experience with technology supporting: Financial Planning, Order Management, Lending, Wealth Investment Products, etc.

JOB SUMMARY This is highly responsible professional geographic information systems analysis, digital database analysis and administration work involving the maintenance of software and hardware of a computerized digital database.

Work involves responsibility for effective and efficient maintenance of a geographic information system.

Duties include development and implementation of upgrades to system components, providing support to project engineers and outreach staff, map creation, data creation, data analysis, data management, and database development.

This position also has the responsibility for making difficult geographic information system quality control and assurance decisions.

This work requires that the employee have knowledge, skill and ability in computer platforms, Windows operating systems, or comparable, automated mapping and facilities management software.
