The mechanical team is a small group of highly motivated people designing, testing, and flying advanced mechanical systems. We enjoy cradle-to-grave hardware ownership and hands-on build, test, and integration of our designs. As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be an influential part of the Mechanical Engineering team helping to drive engineering methods and product quality. The hardware focus is on high reliability safety critical mechanisms and structures, with significant cross-functional development with the Systems, Avionics, GNC, Software, Manufacturing, and Flight Test teams. The position will be located at our facility in Mountain View, California, reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

You will design, analyze, build, test, and fly a system of actuators, mechanisms, and structural modifications to enable remote piloted aircraft. Own your hardware from initial conception through flight test and certification...this is cradle-to-grave engineering with hands-on build, test, and integration. Lead cross-functional trades and drive performance and design decisions to closure. You will bring a sense of humility, and be ready to both learn and teach.

Basic Success Criteria

• BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years professional experience developing mechanical systems

• Mastery of at least one of the following areas: Design, Analysis, Manufacturing, Test, or Certification

• Demonstrated successful project ownership

Preferred Criteria

• Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of mechanical systems

• Ability to assess and prioritize mechanical architectures for safety and reliability

• Previous experience with aircraft or other safety-critical mechanical systems

As a Sr. Master Scheduler / Buyer at Reliable Robotics, you'll play a critical role in building relationships with key industry partners/suppliers, driving supplier execution for safety-critical systems, and continuously improving our supply chain processes. You will be part of the Production organization, a growing team of highly motivated professionals passionate about delivering high-quality products and services on time, with unquestionable quality. You will have hands-on responsibility for managing end-to-end supply chain activities, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP), supplier relationship management, procurement, inventory management, and kitting. You will also mitigate supply risks, resolve procurement discrepancies, and drive cost-reduction initiatives while acting as the liaison between engineering, quality, and manufacturing. These responsibilities require a strong understanding of the aerospace/aviation market, business objectives, and supplier capabilities to ensure success. This position requires coordinating with internal customers, managing a complex supplier portfolio, and communicating with leadership to develop, implement, and achieve business objectives. This is a fantastic opportunity to be an integral team member directly contributing to the certification of the first fully autonomous aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Lead MRP master scheduling for non-recurring engineering, formal engineering development, certification, and production projects, including conducting capacity analyses to mitigate short and long-term schedule risks, identify systemic issues, resolve shortages, and develop strategies to enable a healthy supply chain

• Ensure predictable and uninterrupted supply by analyzing MRP messages, managing master data, bill of materials (BOMs), inventory replenishment strategies, and expediting deliveries with suppliers

• Develop and implement strategies to drive supplier selection, qualification, commercial negotiations, contract development, and administration

• Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis, including business/financial, capabilities, capacity, quality, throughput, technical capability, and risk assessments

• Prepare, issue, and analyze request for quote (RFQ) / request for proposal (RFP) packages, evaluate quotes, translate engineering requirements into clear requests, negotiate with suppliers, place purchase orders, resolve invoice issues, and manage constraints and supplier performance

• Develop sustainable relationships with our partners, suppliers, or distributors

• Drive cost savings through leveraging volume pricing agreements with suppliers

• Develop and mature internal supply chain policies, procedures, and instructions

• Develop, monitor, and continuously improve key supplier performance indicators and manage supplier improvement plans

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Law, or Engineering

• 6+ years of demonstrated experience in supply chain management, contracts/subcontracts, legal, or engineering

As a Sr. Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be a part of our Vehicle Design and Integration team. Your work will help bring together mechanical, electrical, GNC, and safety requirements to produce complex components that are key to the success of our efforts to automate aviation. You'll collaborate with a broad set of teams to develop a system architecture and incorporate requirements across the hardware/software stack.

Responsibilities

In your role as a Sr. Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for defining avionics system architecture and completing trades regarding performance, complexity, risk, and effort. You will drive the vehicle-level design, testing, and integration of avionics hardware, including computing, sensing, actuation, communication, power, and display systems. You will work across engineering teams and will implement an electrical system design that meets system-level and certification requirements. You will be the owner of multiple components (IMUs, air data computers, batteries) and will be responsible for how they are installed in the aircraft, verified, and certified at the aircraft level.

Basic Success Criteria

• Electrical Engineering fundamentals, typically gained through a Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline
