Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work directly with engineering, production and operation in a hardware-focused fashion to streamline builds while reducing variation and non-conformances.

DUTIES
Analyze and interpret clearly complex blueprints, GD&T, 3D Models, manufacturing parameters, specifications, Special Manufacturing requirements, and associated documentation including all commercial and private specifications and drawings.
Research and apply all applicable MIL, AMS, ASTM, QQ, and customer-specific requirements.
Identify manufacturability issues, drawing/model discrepancies, and incorrect material/finish callouts and communicate with the customer when required

Job Summary
The Production Manager is a key member of the Torrance plant's Leadership Team. The responsibilities include overall production management of a high-volume automotive chemicals and consumer products manufacturing plant. Ideal candidate is a demonstrated leader, and has proven success meeting and/ or exceeding production goals. This position oversees production of 4 liquid filling lines and a blow molding line that manufactures bottles from less than one gallon up to drums and totes. This role is responsible for achieving adherence of daily packaging line schedule, including production line standard rates, labor efficiencies, product quality, overall Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/Housekeeping) and employee safety. Additional accountabilities for this role are shift’s overall preparation to run, including coordination of line mechanical set-ups, product supply and material supply from leads and warehousing that meets scheduled line start-up. This individual MUST be outgoing, entrepreneurial, a self starter, and technically talented with strong leadership skills and abilities. Strengths must include communication, coaching, and mentoring skills, and the ability to promote enhanced employee relations and reports to the Plant Manager.
This position requires fully on-site work at our Torrance, California Plant work to cover multiple production shifts. The expected compensation for this position is an annual salary of $108,000-$118,000 depending on experience and qualifications and is bonus eligible.
Day to Day Accountabilities
- Oversees activities of production lines to achieve production rates that meet or exceed standards (including efficient changeovers)
- Responsible for the training and performance management of team members to ensure that each line is staffed with qualified and motivated individuals
- Ensure the identification of product quality problems and implementation of corrective actions
- Utilize theory of constraints or lean manufacturing techniques to evaluate and manage production counts, machine speeds, scrap and downtime to drive reliability to desired levels
- Record and report accurate production counts, machine speeds, scrap counts, line down time, and other data as directed by Production Manager
- Ensure adequate supply of materials (skid tickets, skid records, gloves) (staging and de-staging)
- Responsible for using correct product labor/speed standard
- Enforce all GMP’s, Safety and Environmental regulations as well as company policies
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of paperwork
- Able to meet deadlines to deliver production requirements
- Must be driven with a desire to progress through promotion
- Perform other duties/tasks as assigned
- Forge relationships with business partners throughout the site. Communicate well and clearly, taking the time to understand manufacturing processes
- Responsible for preparing new hire and annual performance reviews
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3+ yrs managing a team highly preferred, however 10+ yrs relevant manufacturing leadership experience with lean manufacturing practices and/or 5S will be considered in lieu of degree
- Knowledge of liquid filling and packaging ops ideal, blow molding and chemical manufacturing a plus

- Prepare and submit monthly Schedule Variance Reports to highlight deviations and support decision-making.
- Identify scheduling issues during project execution and recommend timely, practical, and innovative solutions.
- Participate in site visits to monitor construction progress and validate schedule updates.
- Assist in developing cost-loaded schedules for accurate cash-flow forecasting.
- Monitor actual costs against the cash-flow forecast to track financial performance and identify variances.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Scheduler, Project Manager, and Project Engineers to implement schedule updates.
- Provide scheduling support to other team members as needed.
Qualifications
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in program or project scheduling on large construction programs for an Owner or General Contractor, preferably involving multiple educational facilities or public works projects.
- Advanced proficiency in specific software, including but not limited to Primavera Scheduling Software and Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of cost engineering and scheduling.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional qualifying experience beyond the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites, based on assigned duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do
- Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show production processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key performance indicators
- Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals
- Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment that create a competitive advantage
- Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth
- Support new production contract/new product proposals and new product integration efforts
