The Ride Control Systems Engineer will report to the Executive Ride Control Systems Engineer.
This is a full time role.
What You Will Do:
- Manage entire scope to conceive, design, & deliver control systems for a wide variety of complex and innovative ride systems and related equipment
- Conduct systems engineering for ride control systems
- Define system use cases and user needs
- Develop and capture requirements and functional specifications in documents, drawings, and models
- Ensure compliance with control system safety standards
- Perform engineering design and analysis for ride control systems
- Develop control strategies and algorithms
- Research new products, technologies, and methodologies
- Design, model, and analyze control systems, data communication, and dynamic systems

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
- Experience with requirements management, test plans/procedures, and test execution
- Demonstrated practice in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849
- Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291
- Solid skills in technical document writing

Ride Control Software Engineers work within Imagineering’s Ride Engineering Studio in a highly collaborative environment on diverse teams. Engineering activities cover all aspects of ride control software design and implementation, from concept to commissioning, for a wide variety of innovative ride platforms.
The role of Ride Control Software Engineer Principal (Design Assurance) focuses on design, analysis, system safety, and verification across multiple projects, supporting project teams in critical engineering quality activities.
This role will report to the Executive, Ride Controls Software Engineering.
This position is located in Glendale, CA OR Orlando, FL.

Responsibilities:
Conduct design assurance activities in standards and best practices development, partnering with ride engineering partners across Disney Experiences and the amusement ride industry.
Stay abreast of, and participate in the development of, company and industry standards and methodologies.
Participate in company committees and industry organizations involved in ride safety and design.
Maintain and improve engineering processes to meet project delivery and design assurance objectives.
Conduct design assurance activities for ride project design review and testing, partnering with ride project team members.
Review ride software designs for compliance with industry and company standards.
Assess whether designs are of appropriate quality and meet project requirements.
Advise project teams on optimal ride control software designs, safety analysis methods and results, and testing approaches.
Mentor and train ride control engineers.
Prepare and present Disney requirements and design practices for internal training.

Basic Qualifications:
At least 15 years of experience with ride control software design, engineering, installation, and commissioning
Proficient in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
Experience with requirements development, test plans/procedures, and test execution
Extensive knowledge of ride control software architectures
Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT

Ride Development Engineering Design Assurance is an all-encompassing role that provides technical oversight and guidance in support of Ride project teams. As Ride engineering experts, they lead the way when it comes to process, standardization, and overall design compliance. You will act as the Staff Mechanical Engineering Owner’s Representative with technical expertise for mechanical engineering issues, design management of in-house and outside resources, code compliance, Disney design standards, documentation, specifications, and life cycle cost analysis for best value. What You Will Do
Act as Owner’s Representative on projects from concept through construction at the Disneyland Resort. Project types will include shops, rides, hotels, shows, maintenance facilities, and nearly any built facility and area development found on our property.
Manage the design and development of contract documents of projects with in-house and outside resources to meet project scopes, schedules and budgets.
Develop concepts and Request for Proposals (RFP)s.
Attend, participate, and problem solve during site visits from concept through construction.
Review drawings and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable codes and statutes
Work with stakeholders to provide civil engineering resources to develop project scope including design, planning and code compliance for estimation and feasibility.

Support Executive Design Reviews by contributing technical content, analysis, and coordination as requested by Project or Design Management.
What We Look For
10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, HVAC/DX/VRF/CHW applications, central plant development and operational guidance, hydraulics, hydronics, compressed air, overall kitchen designs and implementation.
Ability to support project partners in procurement and construction.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, ACC, and other engineering-based software.
Working knowledge of both National and Local Standards and Codes.
Required Education and Licensure
BS Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university.
Current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in good standing.

The Optical Engineering Team provides all optical systems engineering services to Millennium's direct programs, studies, proposals, and Internal Research & Development (IRAD) efforts. They are systems engineers managing interfaces between the space vehicle and Electro-Optical (EO)/Infrared (IR) payloads and laser system/laser communication payloads. The team models mission phenomenology and detection performance of EO/IR and active sensors considering the spectral, spatial, and radiometric attributes of the sensor. They design and develop optical hardware, including star trackers and sensor suites that support autonomous navigation and docking maneuvers. They determine what on-orbit and ground image processing algorithms should be implemented to support mission requirements. They work closely with mission and systems engineering teams, as well as manufacturing and testing teams to lead payload systems efforts end-to-end.
An Optical Systems Engineer possesses a strong background in spaceborne electro-optical sensor technology (visible to infrared; active and passive). You will oversee optical systems on our programs, ensuring system specifications meet mission needs. You will own mission performance requirements for remote sensing missions and or space-to-space missions, and model mission phenomenology and detection performance. You will be the primary interface between the optical payload, space vehicle team, and mission data processing team, managing interfaces between these elements. Job Summary
As the Spacecraft Firmware Manager, you will lead the company's Spacecraft Firmware team and serve as a point of contact for technical, budget and resource allocation issues to meet team members needs, customer requirements, and company goals.
You will also contribute to our codebase by providing technical guidance on code reviews and some direct development.
This position's internal job code is Software Engineering Manager. Our team is currently hiring for level K.

- Break down and define scope of work

- Help guide Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) architecture and implementation for flight programs
- Coordinate design reuse across programs and tasks with different needs and constraints
- Foster good technical communication and working relationships between the team and other - subsystems
- Interface with external hardware and software suppliers
- Review designs and code, ensuring team standards are met
- Improve process by simplifying workflows, automating repetitive tasks, and finding smarter ways to work
- Develop and document best practices for producing and testing firmware
- Break down boundaries to develop and maintain each individual's familiarity with the whole team's work
- Seek new industry knowledge and techniques to enhance team capabilities

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Degree in Electrical, Computer, or other relevant engineering
- Strong proficiency with hand-written synthesizable SystemVerilog
- Strong proficiency with common version control, defect/task tracking, and documentation systems
- At least 4 years developing FPGA/ASIC systems
- At least 2 years as an Responsible Engineer, Project Lead, IPT Lead, or equivalent
- Must be versatile and able to perform and manage multiple tasks concurrently
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
- At least 6 years developing FPGA/ASIC systems for space environments
- At least 2 years experience as a functional manager or manager in a matrix organization

Boeing's Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is currently seeking a Facilities Mechanical HVAC Engineer, at Experienced or Senior level, to join our Engineering and Technology (E&T) team in El Segundo, CA to provide support Southern California.
You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with customer requirements, building codes, and regulations. Your expertise in design/construction principles, practices, and materials will guarantee the safety and stability of our infrastructure systems.
You will also have the exciting opportunity to contribute to asset management by conducting studies, analyzing current conditions, and collaborating with stakeholders. As a Facilities Mechanical HVAC Engineer, you will develop technical design statements of work, review final designs, and provide rough cost estimates for various projects. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to safety will ensure that our buildings, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds, meet the highest standards.
Candidate shall:
- Have design experience in the building mechanical HVAC engineering field
- Strong knowledge of mechanical upgrade for HVAC systems
- Provide technical expertise and advice on current system capacities and capabilities, as well as the impact of planned modifications and the development of backup operational plans for system outages or failures
- Recommend system upgrades and replacements, considering factors such as life cycle, cost, design, savings, and efficiencies
- Support and lead the design, operation, and maintenance of on-site HVAC systems such as chillers, cooling towers, boilers, air handling units, compressors, associated ductwork, piping, controls, etc.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop moderately complex conceptual designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the architectural phases of buildings, equipment installations
- Coordinate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies in developing technical designs, final designs, and cost estimates ensuring safety and stability
- Develop moderately complex conceptual analysis to determine the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy of drawing archives/libraries by reviewing contractor redlines
- Identify errors and documents construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and record retention requirements
- Support construction projects by providing input on vendor selection; review contractor proposals; interface with government/regulatory agencies
- Prepare and present project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectives

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree or greater in mechanical engineering
- 3+ years of experience with Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and/or Mechanical Control Systems
- 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD or a similar software
- Self-starter and have the ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts.
- Experience assisting with reliability processes in engineering.
- Experience in reliability and maintenance methodologies and tools
