Detailed Description

Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Manages a team of professionals providing expertise in engineering operations in support of production business units.
  • Manages engineering projects for development and production.
  • Responsibilities include providing project definition and metrics, resource allocation, budget development and management, schedule management, task prioritization, contingency planning, project and program review.

  • Works with Corporate and other Technical Managers to develop and maintain a process for determining which projects to staff based on customer demands and industry trends.

This role ensures the safe installation, compliance, and operation of electrical systems at EV charging sites while acting as a construction manager overseeing field execution, contractors, and schedules.

The Electrical Manager will collaborate closely with MD7’s site acquisition, zoning, engineering, construction, utilities, and general contractor partners to ensure successful project delivery.


DAY-TO-DAY

  • Serve as both Electrical Lead and Construction Manager for EV charging projects
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and recommend required upgrades
  • Prepare preliminary utility designs
  • Review final utility designs received from power company and implement into overall design
  • Request, receive and evaluate construction bids
  • Manage electrical design for EVSE installations, including load calculations, equipment selection, and system layout
  • Oversee construction execution to ensure projects are built per design, code, and schedule
  • Coordinate with utilities, inspectors, and contractors to resolve field issues
  • Ensure all installations meet applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform site walks and inspections as needed
  • Maintain tracking reports, schedules, and construction documentation
  • Provide technical and construction support throughout EVSE installation
  • Support continuous improvement of MD7’s EV construction processes and stay current on EV charging technology, electrical codes, and industry trends
  • Review and approve electrical plans prepared by internal or external teams


DO YOU BRING?

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician (required)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and applicable codes
  • Proven experience acting as a construction manager or field lead on electrical projects
  • Experience in electrical installation, design, and construction oversight (required)

About the Role

The 2nd Shift Production Manager will take full ownership of evening manufacturing operations across sheet metal, welding, polishing, assembly, refrigeration, and electrical departments.

Consistent 4-day work week with 3-day weekends


Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise production personnel across several fabrication functions
  • Oversee fabrication processes including sheet metal forming, CNC cutting, press brake operations, welding, and final assembly
  • Ensure production schedules and labor targets are achieved
  • Monitor operational metrics such as throughput, efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Partner with day-shift leadership to ensure smooth shift transitions
  • Train, coach, and hold team members accountable for performance standards
  • Address material flow issues and production bottlenecks
  • Troubleshoot fabrication and assembly inconsistencies using technical drawings and measurement tools
  • Communicate production adjustments and engineering updates as needed
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety standards
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within a fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Prior hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience
  • Experience working with precision metal components
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Understanding of metal gauges and various material types
  • Experience operating or overseeing CNC fabrication equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a production setting
  • Experience managing production metrics and labor performance
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business software
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
