Position Summary:

This role is responsible for driving scalable manufacturing strategies from prototype through full production, ensuring operational excellence across internal operations and external manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for robotic and automated systems.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between engineering and contract manufacturers (CMs).
- Own technical engagement with contract manufacturers (CMs), driving process readiness, production ramp, cost control, and quality performance.
- Lead product transfers from engineering to full-rate production, including external manufacturing partners.
- Establish and enforce robust manufacturing documentation packages (BOMs, work instructions, control plans, test procedures, tooling specifications).
- Drive DFM/DFA reviews to ensure products are optimized for scalable, cost-effective manufacturing.

- Provide on-site support at CM facilities to resolve escalated production and quality issues.
- Lead structured root cause analysis and corrective action efforts (8D, A3, RCCA) across internal and external operations.
- Specify and implement tooling, fixtures, and automation solutions to improve repeatability and throughput.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior manufacturing engineers and technicians as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in robotic, automation, automotive, aerospace, or industrial equipment environments.
- Significant experience working with and managing contract manufacturers, including new product introduction (NPI), production ramp, and sustaining operations.
- Proven experience transferring products from development to high-volume or high-reliability production.
- Hands-on experience with industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa) and automated systems integration.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes including mechanical assembly, fabrication, machining, and system integration.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems and industrial controls.
- Experience operating within automotive (IATF 16949) or aerospace (AS9100) environments or equivalent structured quality systems.
- Proficiency in CAD tools and strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Provide engineering and project management skills in support of the design and development of new processes/equipment, the scale-up and commercialization of new products, the continual improvement of existing technologies, and the optimal performance and troubleshooting of existing operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong engineering skills in support of the scale-up and development of new products and processes. This includes methods, procedures and specifications to ensure a timely transfer to Manufacturing.

Our client, a fast-paced leader in product development, is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to join their very busy team. The Manufacturing/Process Engineer will support the transition of products from engineering to manufacturing and will be responsible for bringing new products from Design Verification build to Pilot Production. Additionally, the Manufacturing/Process Engineer will support the design, installation, and operation of production processes, including sheet metal fabrication, foaming of refrigeration enclosures, heat pipe assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, and performance testing. They will also collaborate with engineers in Design for Manufacturability to transition new products from Design Verification builds into Manufacturing Validation builds and Mass Production, as well as work in a multidisciplinary production and development team.

We are looking for a Field Engineer that ideally has previous linear water rehabilitation experience i.e. sewers. This will be an onsite role for a sewer rehabilitation project for a utility client in Boston. They will be providing Owner's rep services and be reviewing drawings, RFI's, etc. to provide technical support out in the field to the main contractors out in the field. This person will coordinate back with the design engineer office to determine if changes need to be made.
Provide subcontractors with information and direction, as outlined within contract specifications, to allow the work to proceed as scheduled. Authority to interpret technical requirements and provide solutions in conjunction with discipline Project Department Engineer and Discipline Superintendent, to provide drawings and data, and to direct work as assigned and consistent with Company's contractual commitments. May perform subcontract administration of discipline specific or assigned procurements. Interprets and administers fundamental commercial issues. Position may transition to assistant superintendent or startup engineering role. May perform in an EPC environment where Company is either solely responsible or in a Joint Venture/Consortium with others. Knowledge of design validation planning, DFMEA processes, and risk analysis methods.
Experience using statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, R, or similar platforms.
Advanced experience with 3D CAD modeling tools (SolidWorks preferred).
Hands-on experience with prototyping, test fixture development, and experimental validation.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Familiarity with systems modeling methods and finite element analysis concepts.
Experience working with global engineering teams and contract manufacturers.
Ability to support international collaboration and travel as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $76,400 – $140,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
