The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience in electrical and/or software technologies. Responsibilities for these positions include all aspects of the patent practice both domestic and international, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

All candidates must have excellent academic credentials with a minimum BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or possibly other related engineering disciplines. Admission to the Patent Bar for patent agents is required, and Patent Attorneys must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and be in good standing and an active member of the bar of the state in which the candidate is admitted to practice.

The EE/Physics/Computer software group at Tarolli is a team that is always excited about technology and is looking for team members with a similar mindset. The team is looking for members with experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical, computer software, physics, telecommunications and electro-mechanical arts including any or all of communication systems, superconducting technologies, navigation systems, network architectures, processor systems, RF circuitry, microwave systems, analog and digital circuitry, optical systems, imaging systems, semiconductor processing, semiconductor packaging, memory systems, software algorithms, encryption/decryption technologies, cloud computing, machine learning and predictive modeling.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and can include salary, or salary and percentage of billings. Increases in billing percentages are also commensurate with experience. Partnership track is also available for strong performers.

The Cost Estimator is responsible for analyzing project requirements and preparing accurate cost estimates for steel tube products, fabrication, and related services. This role involves evaluating tubular dimensions, specifications, technical drawings, material requirements, labor, production processes, and market pricing to support competitive quoting, profitability analysis, and strategic decision‐making.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Analysis

• Prepare detailed and accurate quotations for PTG's tubular products, including raw materials, processing, fabrication, packaging, and transportation.
• Review prints, specifications, and customer requirements to determine material dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing needs.
• Apply production times, labor rates, equipment usage, and overhead allocations.
• Evaluate supplier quotes for raw steel, coatings, finishes, and outsourced services.
• Maintain cost models for various steel tube sizes, grades, and manufacturing scenarios.
• Conduct post‐project or post‐quote variance reviews by comparing estimated vs. actual costs and update cost models accordingly.
• Perform cost‐related risk assessments and develop alternative pricing scenarios based on material volatility, production constraints, or changing customer requirements.

Quoting & Pricing

• Prepare customer quotes and proposals within required timelines.
• Ensure pricing aligns with company margin guidelines, market conditions, and cost fluctuations.
• Collaborate with sales, purchasing, and operations to confirm pricing strategies and feasibility.

Data & Documentation

• Maintain a database of historical cost information, supplier pricing, and industry benchmarks.
• Track steel market price trends and adjust estimates accordingly.
• Document all estimate assumptions, data sources, and calculation methodologies.

Cross‐Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering and production teams to identify cost‐saving opportunities.
• Identify and recommend process improvements, alternative materials, or production methods that reduce cost while maintaining quality and feasibility.
• Coordinate with purchasing to validate material availability and updated pricing.
• Support management with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Interact with Sales and customers to ensure all customer needs are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost estimating, preferably within steel manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial products.

The Controls Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining stable and capable production/business processes as they pertain to equipment functionality; machine/equipment capabilities as they relate to safety, throughput, and quality. The Controls Engineer will test and coordinate the implementation of preventive actions in the production lines in order to establish and verify capable and stable production processes; resolve issues associated with assembly automation, work stations, robotics and automated equipment; troubleshoot PLC controls with electrical components servo-drives, motors, wiring and panels; and will review and make PLC program changes on Siemens, Fanuc, Allen Bradley and other machining PLC programs. This role will also capture and document changes and update prints as needed; lead, coordinate and facilitate trouble shooting electrical issues, problem resolution issues as they relate to equipment downtime, throughput improvement or any safety concerns, establish, maintain, update and administer electrical control plans; participate in all aspects of simultaneous engineering efforts to improve current processes and new projects; and perform any related tasks as needed. The Controls Engineer will work closely with maintenance groups, trades and business unit leaders.

• Experience working with commercial / Brand / Sales functions to translate R&D efforts into measurable growth outcomes; familiar with stage-gate commercialization tied to P&L performance.

ESTIMATOR – Commercial & Industrial

Position Description:

The position of Estimator should be capable of preparing proposals for all types of projects (i.e. commercial, industrial, mission critical, education, healthcare, underground, etc.). An individual in this position shall have experience in understanding the means and methods required for completion of various types of construction. A successful estimator shall be able to complete all required take-offs, requests for proposal package reviews, and site reviews required to prepare any proposal. This position will attend project related meetings and site visits when required, complete site visits and scope discussions with assigned Superintendent, Project manager or his designee, and clearly communicate the project requirements and basis for their estimate during bid reviews.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in use of required computer software (Microsoft Suite inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, OneDrive, along with Online Client Portals and Oracle Primavera P6)
• Estimating software Accubid
• Proficiency in independently preparing standard proposals.
• Ability to prepare advanced proposals with minor assistance (project schedules, cash flows, execution plans and supporting documentation)
• Ability to prepare and deliver formal presentations to prospective customers.
• Good communication skills relevant to internal and external discussions.

Responsibilities for electrical estimator:

• Developing a full range of construction cost estimates from Conceptual Design parametric cost estimated to 100% Final Design bid estimates, Construction Phase Change Order estimates
• Preparing a Basis of Estimate that outlines the scope, exceptions, allowance, format, in accordance with client requirements
• Develops and/or compiles discipline and multi-discipline material take-offs (MTOs) • Evaluates and/or develops labor rates and subcontract costs • Enters the information into a spreadsheet or database for inclusion in an estimate
• Analyze project documentation in order to scope, organize, and deliver equipment, material, and labor cost estimates
• Develop project specific estimates based on project plans and schedules
• Prepare and maintain a Basis of Estimate (BOE) for each project
• Perform estimate benchmarking and compile project estimates prior to the internal and external review
• Develop the estimate plan and communicate related information
• Lead reviews of project estimates with the appropriate engineering disciplines
• Ensure that estimates are consistent with client common processes and quality standards and accurately reflect project staffing requirements
• Upon award, update estimate to project
• Generate award documents for review
• Identify areas of importance (milestones, LDs) of a project and relay to sales team
• Facilitate a scope review with the Project Manager and designers

Qualifications for electrical estimator:

• Education through an accredited JATC or trade school.
• Bachelor's or Associates degree in electrical engineering or a similar field, a plus, but not required.
• 3-5 years of project estimating and or related experience
• Strong leadership and managerial skills.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Familiarity with state electrical and safety codes.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving
