The Solar & BESS Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closeout of solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage electrical installations throughout California and Nevada. This role manages projects ranging from 1–10 MW and requires strong technical expertise in utility-scale and large commercial solar, BESS integration, and medium-voltage (MV) electrical systems. The Project Manager oversees schedule, budget, safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and stakeholder communication from Notice to Proceed through final acceptance and turnover.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Manage multiple solar PV and BESS projects from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and resource plans.
- Coordinate project kickoff meetings, weekly progress meetings, and closeout meetings.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes and standards.

Job Summary
The Tool Room Machinist supports production by designing, fabricating, and maintaining tooling and fixtures to meet precise specifications. This role requires advanced proficiency in operating a wide range of machining equipment, including HAAS CNC machines, lathes, EDM systems, and other precision tools. The machinist ensures all tooling is user-friendly, accurate, and delivered on time while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC mills, lathes, EDM machines, grinders, and other shop equipment.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to produce components to exact tolerances.
- Design and fabricate tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures; verify functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools to ensure quality.
- Optimize machining processes for efficiency and accuracy, including tool selection and fixture design.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues independently to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and organize tool room inventory, including consumables and raw materials; prepare purchase requisitions as needed.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and adherence to safety protocols in the tool room and shop environment.
- Communicate tooling capabilities and provide real-time support to operations; deliver accurate job completion estimates.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a machinist, including tool and die design, fabrication, and repair.
- Proven ability to operate CNC mills, lathes, EDM machines, and related equipment.
- Proficiency in common software programs, Such as MasterCam, CATIA or Solid Works.
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, cutting speeds, feeds, and heat treatment processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in shop mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to machine aluminum, steel, and titanium alloys to tight tolerances.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments for dimensional verification.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions on tooling design and quality, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Machinist certification preferred (NIMS, MSSC, or Haas CNC).
