Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed utility investigations to identify existing infrastructure, assess potential conflicts, and recommend solutions during project planning and execution phases.
• Coordinate with utility providers, contractors, and project teams to ensure timely relocation, installation, and integration of utility services.
• Review and interpret construction plans, scopes of work (SOW), and project schedules to identify utility impacts and requirements.
• Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and agreements from utility companies and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance.
• Develop and maintain utility coordination documentation, including utility adjustment plans, easement agreements, and status reports.

• Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations regarding utility coordination and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in utility coordination, utility relocation, or construction project management.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, infrastructure design, and regulatory requirements.

We are currently looking for a Civil Project Engineer who is ready to engage in a large alternative delivery (CMGC) project in Los Angeles County. This project is a multi-year project that will widen the 105 freeway from the 405 to the 605. This widening will increase HOV capacity, reduce congestion along the corridor and introduce tolling to the 105. Phase one of the project is starting at $400 Million, and the remaining phases will push the project towards $1.1 Billion. This is a great opportunity to join the team as we are building the first phase and prior to the project breaking ground on the second phase and contribute to the success of this critical project to improve mobility ahead of the 2028 Olympics.

The ideal candidate is capable of thinking outside the box, understands multi-staged construction projects, is detailed oriented with experience in heavy civil construction. The position is directly accountable for the safety, financial performance, and team development on site.

This position will integrate with the project's structures team that focuses on bridges, walls, shoring and foundations. Your role on the structures team will depend on your desires as well as strengths and previous experience. In addition to self-performing various scopes on the project the structures team will also cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the subcontractors, and suppliers as well LA Metro, Caltrans and the Construction Managers staff.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is looking for you to join our Advanced Weapons Business Unit as a Sr. Staff Chief Engineer of the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) program. This position will report to the Advanced Weapons Business Unit Director of Engineering.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Northridge, CA.

This role will serve as the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (systems engineering/software/support/test) and lead a multi-disciplined team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

• Ownership of the technical baseline and oversees technical activities across multiple contracts within the SiAW Program

• Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited information.
• Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processes
• Experience leading design, production, and integration of complex systems
• Background in aerospace systems; working knowledge of aircraft systems, missile systems, avionics, software systems, and their design drivers.
• Candidate must have good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and good oral and written presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experienced in Air Launched Weapon/Missile Systems Development

The Effectors Center in the SE&TC Directorate is seeking a Hardware Lead focused on design, physical assembly, lab integration, platform integration, and/or flight test. In this role you will be hands- on, supporting the design, assembly, integration, and completion of the unit under test for successful execution of test events.

What You Will Do

• The core of what you will do is drive the physical assembly and test of the unit under test. You will direct the activities of junior engineers and provide technical leadership in the lab and in the field.
• Expectations of the role: ability to effectively communicate and confidently present to program leadership (internal & USG), attention to detail, ability to be organized and prioritize efforts and a strong work ethic. Ability to mentor and guide a team of junior engineers. Technical know-how to conduct missile level integration and test.

SUMMARY

Analyze, interpret, and research all pertinent information needed in order to determine and plan clear step by step manufacturing instructions for Product Realization of contracts.

Analyze, interpret, and research all engineering documentation required to determine, create, and plan clear, complete step-by-step manufacturing instructions for successful Product Realization of customer contracts. Develop manufacturing routers that integrate machining, outside processing, assembly, inspection, and packaging requirements while ensuring full compliance with customer drawings, models, specifications, Quality notes, and industry standards.

DUTIES

Analyze and interpret clearly complex blueprints, GD&T, 3D Models, manufacturing parameters, specifications, Special Manufacturing requirements, and associated documentation including all commercial and private specifications and drawings.

Research and apply all applicable MIL, AMS, ASTM, QQ, and customer-specific requirements.

Identify manufacturability issues, drawing/model discrepancies, and incorrect material/finish callouts and communicate with the customer when required

Coordinate with Programming Manager to establish machining sequence and fixturing needs.

Prepare original manufacturing routers that accurately reflect machining operations, outside processing, finish build-ups, tolerances, and inspection requirements.

Coordinate with Engineering Technician to establish sketches required and processing/plating build-up allowances needed.

Coordinate with Quality to identify required inspection tooling, or special gaging.

Coordinate with Quality Manager for any inspection devices / tools that may need to be purchased.

Work with Assembly to define assembly sequences, hardware identification, and required tools/fixtures

Review and approve vendor data to assure manufacturing pertinent requirements are attained.

Contact the customer and resolve any discrepancies in drawings, models, Special Manufacturing Instructions, or Purchase Order instructions.

Prepare original manufacturing planning process instruction sheets along with outlines that integrate vendors, data, processes, materials, and technology to acquire manufacturing and delivery.

As required, confer with Manufacturing Manager, other Planners, production personnel, Inspectors, or Programmers to resolve manufacturing process issues.

Review, interpret, and implement all manufacturing engineering changes as required.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.

Request clarification, alternate materials, or drawing updates when requirements are not manufacturable or not commercially available.

Works well with other team members. Non-confrontational.

Thorough understanding of Work Instructions, Blueprints, GD&T, Sketches, Drawings, Manuals, Specifications, or Sample Parts.

Adherence to Company Policy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.

5–10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, machining, planning, or engineering.

Ability to read and interpret technical engineering documentation.

Computer literacy; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

Prior experience with ERP/MRP planning systems (e.g., E2, Epicor, SAP).

Experience with AS9100/AS9102 FAIR requirements.

Experience in aerospace machining, outside processing, or inspection.

GD&T training or certification (ASME Y14.5).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Understanding of machine shop tools and equipment: mills, lathes, grinders, saws, CMMs, deburring tools, optical comparator, profilometer.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to work under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.

Principal Communication Systems Engineer

Our exciting Space client in the LA area are looking for a Principal Communication Systems Engineer to work across cutting-edge Communication Systems for Satellites, Spacecraft, and Aerospace systems.

In this position, you will lead the development of space architecture concepts, sub-system design, payload design, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
• Support reviews of requests for proposals to support solution development and response.
• Lead trade studies to optimize system architecture.
• Define and validate space system requirements and interfaces.
• Develop and direct technical concept development in support of proposals.
• Lead development of sub-system design, payload design, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, hardware system design, Link budget studies, gain line up, cascade analysis, array simulation studies, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk reduction.
• Participate in developing system engineering processes for requirements management, flow down, and traceability.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Ideally 7 - 9 years of experience across Space communications.
• Very strong background in communication theory.
• Deep understanding of RF concept, impairments, and the resulting impacts.
• Background and practical experience with FPGA & modern vector processing engines.
• Experience with and understanding of satellite-communications standards (NR NTN, DVB-S2x, CCSDS).
• Experience with at least one scripting and one programming language (ideally Python & C++).
• Experience working with product/component developers and vendors who provide critical functionality to the overall system.
• Experience with optical communications systems.
• Ability to define work direction, track milestones, and demonstrate progress on large open-ended projects.
