Job Description: High-Throughput Screening Research Associate II, III (Biodesigner II, III)
Responsibilities:
- Perform massively parallel reporter assays and high-throughput screens across diverse cellular contexts using cellular and molecular readouts.
- Develop and execute molecular biology workflows such as vector design and cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, RT-PCR, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing.
- Support cell culture activities and experiments in multiple cell lines, at small and large scales.
- Design and execute cell-based assays (AAV/lentiviral transduction, transfection, flow cytometry, immunostaining, and other plate reader assays).
- Engineer and characterize cell-based systems using synthetic biology tools and techniques.
- Conduct and troubleshoot experiments, independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to optimize screening throughput, sensitivity, and specificity.
- Proactively troubleshoot technical issues and recommend potential corrective actions based on personal observations and literature searches.
- Prepare summaries of data and present internally to colleagues and management.
- Draft SOPs, follow protocols, diligently document experimental data in lab notebooks, and organize and maintain electronic work records.
- Author scientific reports and data summaries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, bridging early discovery with high-throughput screens to nominate and optimize candidates for further characterization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of industry wet lab experience.
- Mammalian cell culture experience (culturing, transfecting and transducing cells, and DNA/RNA purification from cells).
- Molecular biology expertise (vector design and cloning, qPCR, primer and probe design, DNA/RNA extraction workflows)
- Critical thinker with excellent communication skills who thrives in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced team environment.

Resident & Community Engagement

What You Bring (Qualifications)
Experience

Compensation:

Salary $150k-$180k 25% bonus equity What You'll Do • Oversee monthly GAAP and tax-basis closes for property, fund, and management entities • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and close deliverables • Lead CAM reconciliations and related reporting • Prepare and review internal and external financial reports • Coordinate annual audits and serve as a key contact with external auditors • Evaluate complex and non-routine transactions under GAAP • Support accounting policy updates and internal control initiatives • Partner with external tax advisors on projections, compliance, and filings • Support treasury activities related to partnership distributions • Drive process improvements and system optimization (Yardi Voyager) • Collaborate cross-functionally with Property Management, Leasing, Treasury, and Investor Relations • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team What We're Looking For • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • CPA or active CPA candidacy preferred • 6 years of progressive accounting experience • Real estate, fund, or partnership accounting experience preferred • Public accounting and/or public company experience strongly preferred • Experience with partnership tax reporting and K-1s a plus • Yardi Voyager experience strongly preferred • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams

Relevant background:
- MD or PhD, with research experience building and/or applying machine learning models during graduate studies, industry, or postdoctoral work.
- Excellent publication record.
- Interest in medicine and biology.
- Familiarity with modern AI/ML platforms and libraries (e.g., PyTorch and/or TensorFlow), traditional machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn), and statistical analysis in Python.
Preferred, but not required:
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) data and cohort/outcome definition using EHRs.
- Experience in medicine and/or biology, particularly in aging-related research and omics-based analyses.
- Broad experience across diverse AI/ML concepts, including causal inference.
