PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supporting the design, order entry and manufacturability of products through the system by creation and maintenance of manufacturing configurators, bill of materials and pricing rules. Define item masters, bill of materials and routers by conducting white board exercises communicating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Applications on issues relating to JD Edwards. Participate in the design, preparation, and release of interactive CAP documents. These will include electronic documents that merge configuration data with documents. This will normally be a cross-functional team drawn from Marketing, Applications, and outside suppliers.

Develop andmaintainPit Detail drawings in the CAP tool. These will define the required leveler pit dimensions and materialsrequiredfor the proper installation of levelers. This position works withDesignEngineering, Order Engineering, and Applications Department to define rules and bills of material.

CAP Wizards and Dependencies. Creates andmaintainssimplified Entry Wizards and Dependencies that communicateimportant informationto the salesperson. These dependencies will vary from requirements to informational notificationsrequiredto get a "clean" quote and conversion to an order.

Works with Applications, Marketing and Engineering to define Help text for individual segments for use in JD Edwards and the CAP tool. These explain individual product options in detail with a focus on making it clearest to the salesperson.

Works with Applications and Marketing to define English Definitions for Cross-Segment Edits.

Generate a comprehensive test plan for each configuration implementation. Oversee a cross-functional team to ensure that adequate testing is performed as a prerequisite to each implementation.

Perform post implementation audits to ensure theaccuratetransfer of information from the test to the live sales and manufacturing branch plants.

Review Engineering Change Notices toidentifytheir effect on JDE coding. Implementchangethrough the JD Edwards Manufacturing System. This will includeupdating ofitem masters, bills of materials, routings,tablesand costs.

Participates in manufacturing software implementations or upgrades. This will include defining andmaintainingthe manufacturing system setup and use. It may involvedefining ofnew processes required by new software. It will include definingappropriate dataconversions andverification ofdata accuracy.

Train personnel on MRP II, PhDconceptsand other related topics.

Document applicable policies and procedures.

Recommends changes, such as design modifications to engineering or process improvements to manufacturing, to achieve standardization and simplification.

Assist with development of product structures as they relate to selection of assembly forms to ensure efficient systems adaptability.

Responsible for continuous improvement of systems, setup,processesand procedures as they relate to assigned job duties and supporting areas.

Position Title: Sr. Project Estimator - Construction (Hybrid)

Location: Detroit, MI, USA, 48226

Duration: 12- months Contract on W2 (Possible extension)

Note*- What they are looking for:

• Electrical Engineer or Electrical Master Journeyman
• Strong construction/commercial project experience
• Experience estimating electrical systems, including:
• Underground and overhead systems
• Transformer and inverter installations
• Solar and renewable energy projects (preferred)
• A minimum of 5 years of direct estimating experience specifically aligned to the above areas.

Position Description:

• Assists the project management teams by developing, monitoring and updating estimates and/or an integrated project plan so that the project may be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
• Applies methods and techniques, standards, processes, procedures, guidelines and templates, to efficiently manage, develop, and control project estimates.
• Assignments are received in the form of results expected, within operating policies and procedures.
• Incumbent has the discretion to select from alternative approaches; decisions may involve changes to normal work processes.
• Span of control: 0; this is an individual contributor job.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Assist project management teams by developing, monitoring, and updating project estimates.
• Develop Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates, Budgetary estimates, Unit pricing, and Definitive (detailed) estimates.
• Assist project management team in reviewing, design documents or scope packages for completeness.
• Assist project management team in reviewing contractor and engineering estimates; validation of quantities and contractors/engineering estimates.
• Review and challenge the submitted contractor bids for scope accuracy and optimal pricing
• Review change orders for scope and cost accuracy.
• Develop estimate details by WBS to cost load project schedules
• Analyze costs; perform risk analysis, benchmarking, value engineering, constructability review, and claim analysis.
• Provides expertise and develops methods and techniques, standards, processes, procedures, guidelines, and templates, for project controls organization, to support efficient development, management, control, and integration of projects plans.
• Ensures that required project estimating and/or planning controls are appropriately implemented and maintained.
• Ability to work in a 'team' and/or 'matrixed' structure, supporting multiple clients.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• High School or GED, & 10+ years of job-relevant Electrical Journeyman estimating experience, or
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field and the knowledge / capabilities typically acquired through 8+ years of job-relevant experience in estimating electrical systems . or
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field and the knowledge / capabilities typically acquired through 6+ years of job-relevant experience in estimating electrical systems
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in using Microsoft Excel

Other Qualifications Preferred:

• 4+ years of understanding Electrical systems, reading plans, calculating labor/material costs and experienced in working on large construction projects,
• preferably renewables (Solar, Wind, etc.)
• Electrical Work (Substations, OH and UG cable work)
• Estimating all project costs (i.e., engineering, design, project management, construction, commissioning, etc.)
• Familiarity to intermediate level experience using On-screen take off, or any other estimating software.

Additional Information:

• Location Requirement: Hybrid - Must be able to come on-site periodically (Tu, We & Th) and reside at a commutable distance from the work location in Metro Detroit and two days remote.
