Job Summary

The Director, Facilities Design is responsible for overseeing design projects for Sysco's global operations. Sysco Corporation's facilities design function is responsible for the conceptual design of new and renovated facilities including floorplans, site plans, and elevations. The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Design & Analysis Engineer to become part of Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Vehicle Management System (VMS) team in Berkeley, MO or Hazelwood, MO.

You will enable the VMS organization to continue to advance its technologies in support of our Phantom Works and Fixed-Wing programs. The team is responsible for developing integration test assets, real-time software test environments, subsystem/system testing, and evaluating system performance in simulation lab environment. Simulation and modeling are utilized to assist in requirements development, software and hardware development, and equipment verification and validation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical schematics and designs for cabling, test hardware, and/or test stations

  • Select components for hardware designs and support the procurement and fabrication of hardware designs

  • Integrate hardware systems and/or software together in a test setting

  • Operate complex test stations, electronic test equipment, and test software

  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 1+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems

  • Experience interpreting technical requirements to create designs and/or documents

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1+ years of experience conducting component, sub-system, system or system-of-systems tests

  • 1+ years analyzing engineering designs to define testing requirements

  • Experience preparing test plans, schedules and documentation

  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and/or real-time operating systems

  • Experience with software programming and creating scripts for automated testing

  • Experience with Flight Controls or Vehicle Management Systems

Responsible for the establishment of optional manufacturing methods and processes for the organization’s production lines. Lead and motivate a large group of Engineers whose primary responsibility is to define and implement complete manufacturing processes. · Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
· Provide feedback to peers (BUMs, WCMs, Functional Managers (FMs) on cost and cost trends.

Forecast Development and Accuracy:
· Prepare timely forecasts for the department.
· Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
· Anticipate future headcount requirements based on open Bays and projected business.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

· Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
· Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the workcells.
· Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
· Prepare quotes for new and potential customers.
· Forecast future requirements and technical trends to drive gear suppliers in their technology roadmap.
· Verify reconfiguration requirements and monitor line moves.
· Lead equipment evaluations. Assure measurement criteria meet all Jabil site requirements worldwide.
· Explore and monitor new processes and procedures to support customer’s expanding requirements on cutting edge technology and product densification.
· Assist Project and Design Engineers with Design for Manufacturability issues.
· Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
· Utilize Jabil’s Advanced Engineering group to ensure useful support to Jabil South.
· Establish new measurement systems if/where possible.
· Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are “best in field.”
· Drive the concept of an IE being an “Integration Engineer” that ensures everything works smoothly to guarantee efficient and high quality processes that translate into high customer satisfaction and revenues for Jabil.
· Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
· Periodically “get down in the trenches” to rehabilitate troubled workcells or to help during product launch. Foster a “back to basics” mentality during these times. Lead by example; “walk the talk.”

· Exchange knowledge and information with other Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.
