Position Overview

The QA Technician – Manufacturing Logistics at Eli Lilly and Company provides hands-on quality support for third-party logistics and warehousing operations in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role ensures warehouse activities such as goods receipt, material sampling, inspections, and outbound shipping are compliant with cGMP requirements and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform material sampling in accordance with approved GMP sampling plans.
• Execute incoming inspections of materials and components (e.g., packaging components, printed materials).
• Evaluate damaged or discrepant materials from inbound shipments and warehouse handling to determine acceptability.
• Identify, investigate, and support resolution of shipping and receiving issues (e.g., incorrect quantities, product discrepancies, contamination concerns).
• Author and submit supplier complaints and internal quality notifications as needed.
• Support deviation investigations, including aberrant data investigations.
• Provide quality guidance related to materials, utilities, and warehouse processes.
• Review temperature monitoring data and escalate abnormalities as appropriate.
• Perform quality-related inventory transactions to maintain accurate material status (e.g., released, quarantined, blocked).
• Support recalls, rejections, and returns as required.
• Participate in gap assessments against global quality requirements and assist with implementation of governing standards.
• Support self-inspections, regulatory inspections, and audits.
• Maintain, execute, and review GMP documentation generated during logistics operations.
• Manage and maintain the GMP document library.
• Collaborate with site stakeholders and external partners to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and proper lifting techniques.

• Strong record-keeping and communication; proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team. 

Required (Sr. RA): 

• B.S./M.S. in a related field with 3–6+ years of relevant industry experience in oligonucleotide synthesis/purification. 
• Demonstrated proficiency in method development/optimization for oligo purification and in-process analytics. 
• Experience drafting SOPs/batch records and mentoring junior staff. 

Preferred (both levels): 

• Experience with LC–MS data acquisition/interpretation for oligonucleotides. 
• Exposure to nucleoside/nucleotide building blocks or bioconjugation workflows supporting RNAi platforms. 
• Familiarity with TFF operations and scale-up considerations.

Work Environment 

• Onsite laboratory role with routine handling of chemicals and analytical instrumentation. 
• Some lifting (up to ~50 lb) and extended periods at the bench or operating instrumentation. 
• Occasional off-hours support during critical runs.
