Position Overview

Davis Wire is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen our safety culture within a manufacturing environment. This role leads EHS programs, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance. The EHS Manager maintains a visible presence on the production floor and works closely with leadership, supervisors, employees, and corporate EHS teams. Reporting to the Facility VP / General Manager.

Safety Leadership

Safety is a top priority.

  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Promote proactive safe work practices, fire prevention, and emergency response
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor conducting inspections and identifying hazards
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Partner with HR on workers’ compensation and related insurance matters
  • Maintain safety records and required regulatory reporting

Environmental Compliance

  • Manage environmental programs including waste stream management (RCRA/DOT), manifests, labeling, and wastewater treatment
  • Conduct environmental inspections and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Complete and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies
  • Monitor wastewater treatment and acid recovery systems
  • Apply basic chemistry principles including pH, acids, and bases

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, or related field
  • 10+ years industrial EHS experience
  • 5+ years in an EHS leadership role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Experience with incident investigations and regulatory reporting
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • EHS certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM) is a plus
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Must pass background, drug/alcohol, and physical screening

Proactively identify potential health hazards (e.g., chemical toxicity, airborne contaminants, biological agents, ergonomic stressors) through inspections and evaluations of laboratory and pilot plant environments.

Provide essential training and education to employees and management on hazards, safe work practices, and the proper use of safety equipment and controls.

Develop and implement effective control measures to eliminate or reduce hazards, including engineering controls (e.g., ventilation, containment), administrative controls, and the selection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Prepare detailed reports of findings, assessments, and recommendations to management and regulatory agencies, ensuring accurate documentation for compliance and future reference.
