  • Tracks and logs thorough documentation of all incident reports and investigations on employee-related incidents following company protocols and in the corresponding company systems.
  • Assesses training needs and provides recommendations on topics of employee-related training with Regional HR and assists with the coordination of training as needed.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to employees and/or supervisors assisting management in formulating responses.
  • Assesses the location’s work environment and communicate with Senior Human Resources Manager in areas of development. Interprets the need for the intermediate and long-term advancement potential of individuals and jobs to create organization opportunities for development.
  • Promotes a collaborative approach to serve and support all employees across the geographic area in conjunction with strong ethics to represent and practice the company values.
  • Assists with HRIS systems use and HR programs to employees when needed or recommends points of contact to help address employees’ inquiries.
  • Opens, organizes, and updates employee files. Tracks employee progress, noting promotions, recognitions, policy violations, and documenting them accordingly. Ensures all employee files are maintained according to law.
  • Provides feedback to the Senior Human Resources Manager and Area Managers regarding trends revealed when conducting exit interviews.
  • Provides feedback to Talent Acquisition Recruiters regarding the competency of terminated employees.
  • Participates in legal hearings to provide testimonies and monitoring proceedings.
  • Assists the HR team with ensuring Employee Handbook is updated with current policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and retention.
  • Provides recommendations on policies and procedures that support best practices and a positive work environment
  • Any other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
  • Minimum of three years of professional HR experience. One year of employee relations experience or equivalent through training and/or education.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including excellent documentation and presentation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations, employment laws, EEOC, ADA, and any others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead calibration and tuning of diesel engine parameters including fuel injection timing and quantity, rail pressure, combustion phasing, air-path, EGR, boost control, and thermal management.
  • Support aftertreatment calibration (DOC, DPF, SCR) with primary ownership on engine-out emissions.
  • Plan and execute engine-centric test cell activities for calibration, tuning, and validation.
  • Support Controls Engineer and Test Cell Technician to instrument engines and combustion measurement systems (pressure transducers, air/fuel flow, emissions).
  • Troubleshoot engine performance, combustion, smoke, fuel consumption, and engine-out emissions issues.
  • Diagnose control logic, calibration, and engine hardware issues observed during test cell operation.
  • Use test cell data and Simulink model behavior to perform structured root cause analysis.
  • Implement and validate corrective actions in control models and calibration datasets.
  • Execute steady-state, transient, combustion, and regulatory test cycles.
  • Strong understanding of Engine Controls in Simulink Models.

Experience:

  • Strong expertise in diesel engine calibration and combustion fundamentals.
  • Strong experience executing and supporting engine test cell activities, including steady-state, transient, combustion, and emissions testing.

Purpose:

• Supporting the facilitation of crucial conversations with operations and HSEQ leaders when deficiencies are not appropriately corrected. Ensure jobsite observations are documented in the company-specified safety management system.

• Assisting in the investigation and analysis of good catches, close calls/near misses, and incidents.

• Collaborating with the Port Miami Tunnel team to determine root causes, contributing factors, and developing and communicating lessons learned through incident reports and safety meetings.

• Providing subject matter expert support under the direction of the HSEQ Manager to Operations and Maintenance.

• Providing emergency care evaluation and first aid, when required, ensure injured worker is medically evaluated and treated (if needed), facilitating the coordination of post incident drug and alcohol testing, and assisting the HSEQ Manager in overseeing return to work and restricted duty programs.

• Collaborating with planning/procurement in the specification of appropriate PPE and first aid supplies.

• Monitoring site performance to ensuring compliance and sustainability of the site’s Quality Management Systems.

• Assisting in interpreting laboratory sampling results and preparing regulatory reports.

• Coordinating and implementing QC standards, policies, process standards, initiatives, performing scheduled internal/external audits, quality reviews and approvals to ensure the application of QHSE standards and ensuring the documents are accurate and consistent.

• Implementing sustainable corrective actions/preventive actions (CAPAs) and in verification of effectiveness and sustainability.

• Ensuring the continuous improvement to quality and safety processes, policies and systems and participates in the development and implementation of short- and long-term site continuous improvement HSESQ strategic plans.

• Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant federal, state/provincial, local, company, and client HSEQ standards.

The Position

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) is responsible for providing leadership and direction across the four All Flex sites, leading people strategy, culture, and employee communications. The VP of HR leads the HR team, managing and developing a team of dedicated HR professionals to support the organization’s growing HR needs.

Major elements of the VP of HR’s responsibilities include:


People & Culture Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, the executive management team, and the Board of Directors in setting strategic direction for the company. Provide insight on team, talent, culture, and wellbeing as we craft strategic plans and initiatives.

Talent Planning & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead annual and long-range workforce planning (headcount, capabilities, and critical roles). Anticipate talent needs as new lines, facilities, or services are added and develop the long-term talent roadmap.
  • Lead organizational design at the enterprise level to support growth, productivity, and employee engagement and development.
  • Oversee recruitment strategy and implementation for both production and office employees, ensuring that recruiting volume and quality meet the needs for business growth in production, leadership, and individual contributor roles across the company.
  • Lead the HR team and work with others to develop and maintain company job descriptions, skills/training matrix, and performance management systems, including leading the annual review process and recommending leadership and management trainings.
  • Lead the executive team in an annual talent review and succession planning exercise.

Communication & Change Management

  • Oversee internal and external communications and employer branding to ensure consistency. Lead or participate in quarterly all employee meetings or occasional daily kiosk meetings to communicate critical HR information.
  • Lead the people and culture aspects of major transformations: acquisitions, integrations, restructurings, new business models, or technology changes. Build change management capability across the leadership team.
  • Participate in HR organizations, including SHRM, Enterprise MN, Granite Partners’ HR Affinity, and Safety Committee, as well as local Chambers of Commerce, United Way, and other organizations as applicable.


Candidate Profile

Qualified candidates will have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in all facets of human resources and business leadership in a successful, multi-site, manufacturing company with at least 6 years leading and developing other HR professionals and managers. The ideal candidate will be a generalist with a demonstrated track record of success and accomplishment. An undergraduate degree or equivalent is required; advanced degree and/or PHR or SPHR certification is considered a plus.


The VP of HR brings comprehensive experience across the full HR lifecycle, from talent strategy and organizational development to total rewards, employee relations, and compliance. Excellent business acumen, financial aptitude, and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to establish credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization.
