Mayo Clinic's Division of General Internal Medicine in Rochester is one of the largest academic general internal medicine divisions in the world - serving as the gateway in evaluating and caring for adult patients that may have unexplained symptoms and/or complex medical conditions. Consultative Medicine Clinic (a section of GIM) provides consultative medical care to patients that reside outside of Olmsted county in Minnesota. Consultative Medicine sees new patients to Mayo Clinic for an initial comprehensive evaluation. The LPN role in Consultative Medicine includes, but is not limited to, patient visits (face to face and via telephone) review of patient health history, medication review, immunization administration, focused nutrition assessments, and blood pressure visits.
