You will act as the Staff Mechanical Engineering Owner’s Representative with technical expertise for mechanical engineering issues, design management of in-house and outside resources, code compliance, Disney design standards, documentation, specifications, and life cycle cost analysis for best value. This role also involves close collaboration with other engineering disciplines and multiple Disney project teams including FAM, WDI, Entertainment, and Operations.

You will report to the Senior Manager for MEP Engineering with DLR Architecture & Facilities Engineering.

Act as Owner’s Representative on projects from concept through construction at the Disneyland Resort. Project types will include shops, rides, hotels, shows, maintenance facilities, and nearly any built facility and area development found on our property.
Manage the design and development of contract documents of projects with in-house and outside resources to meet project scopes, schedules and budgets.
Attend, participate, and problem solve during site visits from concept through construction.
Review drawings and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable codes and statutes
Work with stakeholders to provide civil engineering resources to develop project scope including design, planning and code compliance for estimation and feasibility.

10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, HVAC/DX/VRF/CHW applications, central plant development and operational guidance, hydraulics, hydronics, compressed air, overall kitchen designs and implementation.

Scope of Position:

The Lead Equipment Installation Mechanical Technician is a senior-level technical role responsible for leading and executing complex mechanical equipment installations.   • Comfortable working closely with general contractors, subcontractors, and field teams.

Mechanical engineers at L3Harris have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of design activities over a broad range of aircraft (both fixed-wing and rotary-wing). Mechanical engineers are responsible for developing designs ranging from the integration of state-of-the-art airborne systems into special mission aircraft to developing specialized aircraft modifications.   • Design and liaison of aircraft primary and secondary structure utilizing military and commercial design standards, customer specifications and system requirements documents utilizing 3-dimensional CAD.

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and construction of auxiliary mechanical systems within a highly regulated engineering environment. This role will act as a key liaison between the design and construction teams, ensuring system designs are properly executed during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases. The engineer will collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and construction teams to ensure systems are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with project requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and coordinate stakeholder feedback on system design packages.
  • Interface with the Procurement team to support vendor selection, design reviews, and fabrication contracts.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors on Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
  • Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of auxiliary mechanical equipment.
  • Perform owner’s acceptance reviews of vendor-supplied design documentation.
  • Prepare and review test plans for factory and site acceptance testing of equipment.
  • Act as a technical liaison between engineering design and construction teams during installation and commissioning.
  • Address field inquiries and technical issues during construction.
  • Conduct site walkdowns and inspections of installed equipment to verify proper installation and compliance with design specifications.
  • Support system design documentation including drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and quality documentation.
