What You Will Be Doing

Installs parts, subassemblies and assemblies where locations are pre-determined, obtained from adjacent parts or located by simple measurement from fixed points.
Performs simple operations such as wire cutting, soldering, stripping, bending, splicing, bundling, wire routing, marking, crimping, swaging, connector fabrication, mixing, bonding, potting, embedding, encapsulation, drilling with tooling or pilot holes where tolerances are not critical, routing, riveting, optical handling, optical cleaning, simple optical assembly, , touch-up brush conformal coating and chem film, and other similar activities associated with production assembly operations.
Assembles optical and mechanical assemblies consisting of a number of optical elements and mechanical components. Assures proper orientation of optical elements and uses care in placing into position optical and mechanical components. Bonds optical elements into mechanical housings and prepares RTV rubber compounds, epoxies, and UV cements in accordance with directions provided. Places elements in housing and centers using mechanical centering tools such as pins and shims. Utilizes existing set-ups of auto collimation, zygo machine and other optical alignment equipment during assembly build. Measures and records step heights between optics and housing.
Performs visual, continuity, pressure, leak, in-process checks as may be required to verify completed work.
Performs tapping, reaming, scraping, filing, lapping, adjusting, collimating and measuring.
Fabricates simple wire harnesses, assemblies, and subassemblies of electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical devices.
Performs simple fabrication and assembly operations utilizing microscopes, drill presses, pin presses, torque wrenches, soldering and de-soldering tools, various hand tools, simple measuring instruments and continuity buzzers.

Position Responsibilities

Locate points, parts, holes, wire bundles, assemblies, etc., using previously established, marked, or generally known station lines or index points, deriving measurements and related information from electrical specifications and authorized sources.
Conduct continuity checks to ensure proper functionality of electrical systems.
Utilize prints, changes, schematic drawings, documents, position boards, assembly pages, photographs, makeup charts, work orders, and production illustrations to complete assigned tasks.
Execute any necessary pickups, authorized changes, and rework independently or on comparable work, often without the use of wire forming boards, jigs, fixtures, or tooling. Typically assigned work that has been previously sequenced.
Select appropriate parts, materials, tools, assemblies, and shields to effectively accomplish work assignments.
Report job handicaps, such as errors in sequencing, parts, materials, wire sizes and types, and assembly procedures, in accordance with shop procedures outlined by the supervisor.
Perform hand forming of electrical wiring and soldering as required to complete work assignments.
Carry out mechanical work when it is similar in complexity and incidental but necessary for the efficient completion of work assignments.
Execute necessary riveting tasks as part of the assembly process.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

Assist and support the current Assembly team with electrical assembly projects, while learning and gaining experience in electrical machine design, machine testing, and/or machine controls. This position is one that understands how to read electrical schematics and can assist in properly building panels, routing, and terminating wires for complete machines. The ability to operate manual and powered hand tools, such as drills, grinders, and sanders is desired. This position is under the supervision of the Assembly Team and Electrical Engineers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for assisting higher-level Assemblers and Engineers in electrical panel builds.
· Read and understand assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly instructions.
· Follow standard assembly procedures and adhere to pre-determined best assembly practices.
· Hand drill, ream, and tap holes for wire hold downs as needed.
· Layout and build electrical panels working off drawings and schematics.
· Properly label all wires according to electrical prints and schematics, and verbal instructions.
· Route and terminate wires according to electrical prints and schematics and verbal instructions.
· Work with engineers in the testing of electrical panels and machines.
· Work with a cooperative team when necessary.
· Ability to follow instructions without constant supervision.
· Maintain a safe and clean workstation while having a safety-conscious mindset.
· Working with Engineers and the manufacturing team improves the manufacturability of machinery.
· Prioritize workload to ensure that deliverables are completed in timelines that meet customer expectations

Cubic Pay Range:
$17.85 - $21.00 + benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Execute documented assembly procedures, both electrical and mechanical:
- Product assembly by using a microscope and/or hand tools.
- Hand soldering assembly of high precision small components.
- Perform data entry into the manufacturing database.
- Attend cell meetings:

The Role
We are looking for a skilled Highway Truck Equipment Installer to join our production team. This is a hands-on role where you will transform bare truck chassis into high-performance workhorses. You aren't just "fixing" trucks; you are building them from the frame up using a mix of mechanical assembly, welding, hydraulics, and electrical work.
Key Responsibilities
Installation: Mount and install truck bodies (dump bodies, platforms, service bodies) and equipment (snowplows, salt spreaders, hoists, and liftgates).
Fabrication: Perform welding and torch cutting to modify frames or create custom brackets and mounts.
Hydraulics: Install and plumb hydraulic pumps, valves, reservoirs, and hoses to power heavy equipment.
Electrical: Wire electrical systems, including lighting packages, strobe lights, controllers, and camera systems.
Quality Control: Test all installed equipment to ensure it operates safely and meets Zwack Inc.’s high standards and manufacturer specifications.

What You Bring to the Table
Mechanical Aptitude: You have a solid understanding of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
Experience: Previous experience in truck upfitting, heavy equipment repair, or automotive mechanics is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
o Basic knowledge of DC electrical systems.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work on your feet, and navigate in and around large truck frames.
