Overview:
Celtic Marine & Logistics, a leading company in the maritime industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics/Transportation Coordinator to manage and oversee the movement of cargo via barges, vessels, and inland transportation networks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable, and able to work effectively under pressure while coordinating cargo logistics from origin to destination.
This role requires a self-starter who can take ownership of tasks, run them to completion with minimal supervision, and ensure accuracy across operational, contractual, and financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Operations & Scheduling
- Track and monitor the loading, movement, and discharge of cargo via barges, trucks, and ocean vessels.
- Monitor vessel and barge movements using industry tracking websites.
- Ensure equipment positioning (barges, trucks) and services (stevedores, warehouses) align with vessel and barge schedules.
- Plan and monitor loading and discharge operations.
- Compare cargo documentation against cargo received to ensure correct material is loaded to the correct destination.
Operational Accuracy & Quality Control
- Review contractual agreements with customers and vendors to ensure operational and commercial requirements are met.
- Review cargo stowage plans and shipment details for accuracy.
- Perform internal reviews of operational work before information is sent externally.
- Identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues before they impact operations.
- Review customer orders and vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contracts.
Documentation & Data Management
- Maintain and update the internal Shipping System with cargo movement details.
- Export and analyze shipping data in for reporting and operational planning.
- Prepare operational instructions including barge loading and stevedoring instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to cargo movements, contracts, and vendor services.
Vendor & Service Coordination
- Coordinate with stevedores, vessel agents, surveyors, warehouse operators, customs brokers, and other service providers.
- Ensure vendors meet operational timelines and service requirements.
- Manage booking confirmations and operational updates across stakeholders.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate with customers to ensure logistics needs and expectations are met.
- Maintain consistent communication with vendors and service providers regarding vessel and barge scheduling.
- Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate billing and invoice processing based on operational outcomes.
- Manage internal and external communications through phone, email, and messaging platforms.
- Monitor and respond to group and individual Outlook email communications promptly.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in maritime logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations required
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

YOUR ROLE
Support the delivery of strong customer outcomes and commercial performance within the Contract Logistics business. Reporting to the Customer Success Manager, this role oversees day-to-day execution across a portfolio of accounts and provides frontline leadership to Customer Success team members.
The Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring consistent customer engagement, contract compliance, service delivery alignment, and identification of incremental growth opportunities. While not accountable for overall account strategy, this role actively supports renewals, service expansions, and commercial initiatives through disciplined execution and customer advocacy.
Success in this role requires a hands-on leader with strong customer focus, operational awareness, and the ability to coach teams while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Customer Engagement & Account Management
• Support assigned customer accounts by ensuring consistent execution of customer success activities, service delivery alignment, and issue resolution.

Performance & Financial Awareness
• Monitor basic account performance metrics including service levels, volumes, and cost drivers.
• Support the Manager in tracking account health, margin drivers, and performance trends.
• Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure data accuracy and issue resolution related to billing, performance, or service scope.
Team Supervision & Development
• Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and coaching to Customer Success team members.
• Ensure consistent execution of customer success processes, standards, and best practices.
• Support onboarding, training, and skill development of team members, reinforcing customer engagement and execution discipline.• Monitor individual performance and provide feedback aligned with customer outcomes and team objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Operations, Solutions Design, and Commercial teams to support customer needs and ensure seamless execution of contracted services.
• Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to resolve service issues and improve customer satisfaction.
• Contribute feedback and insights to improve customer success processes and tools.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in customer success, account management, logistics operations, or a related commercial support role.
- Experience managing customer interactions in a B2B or contract logistics environment preferred.

Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- 8+ years of proven experience in logistics vendor management, logistics operations, or logistics procurement. Prior experience in developing and managing marketplace or e-commerce logistics solutions is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in analyzing logistics data and implementing data-driven strategies to optimize supply chain performance.

Under the guidance of the QSHE Supervisor, the Contract Logistics Quality Inspector Team Lead oversees inspection activities to ensure they align with the company's service, quality, and cost objectives. The Quality Inspector Lead is responsible for ensuring Inspectors receive proper training and evaluations according to relevant standard procedures. This role includes managing the scheduling of an adequate number of Inspectors, including coverage for weekend shifts. The Quality Inspector Lead guarantees timely reporting of inspection findings and serves as the primary liaison between Inspectors and leadership. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:00 pm to 5:30 am.

Essential Duties And Functions
- Oversee daily quality inspection operations, guiding and mentoring inspectors to guarantee that products meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee inspection activities to align with production schedules while ensuring exceptional quality, reliability, and safety standards are consistently upheld
- Identify opportunities to enhance inspection methods and strengthen quality control processes
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of measurement and testing equipment, such as calipers and gauges
- Be the primary point of contact between the inspectors and operations staff
- Immediately report any interpersonal or staff issues to the QA Supervisor or Manager
- Provide daily direction, training, and oversight to QA Inspectors to ensure production targets are consistently achieved
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards while effectively managing quality documentation
- May be required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Identify and document non-conforming materials, initiate quality Notifications in the designated system, and collaborate with the leadership team to conduct thorough root cause investigations
- Perform or oversee detailed dimensional and visual inspections on complex parts, tools and gauges using various measuring instruments

Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Minimum Education: High school diploma, equivalent certification, or a technical degree
- Preferred Qualification: At least one year of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a manufacturing or distribution center setting
- Comprehensive expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances), blueprint interpretation, and precise measurement techniques
- Employees are expected to adhere to procedures introduced through on-the-job training
- Escalating potential situations to higher levels of supervision when necessary
- Identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies encountered during the receipt or completion of paperwork
- Demonstrated capability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks independently with minimal oversight
- The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in warehouse or manufacturing settings
- Computer skills, including proficiency in SAP or comparable quality management systems
- U.S. citizenship is required to comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations
