This technology engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, supportability, and continuous improvement of key infrastructure monitoring and management platforms, with primary ownership focus on tools such as SolarWinds, Azure Sentinel. This role requires a developer mindset. This person will also be providing operations systems administration support for hands on Linux and Windows systems. This role partners closely with internal teams across operations, monitoring, and security to strengthen platform health, improve signal quality, and enable effective incident response workflows. The engineer will support a hybrid environment with strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure monitoring and logging, contribute to platform lifecycle activities (patching, upgrades, onboarding, documentation), and continuously learn and apply modern capabilities— including analytics and emerging AI features—across event management, observability, and SIEM tooling to reduce operational friction and increase time to value.
Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership - Network & Monitoring Tools (must have)
• Familiar with tools such as SolarWinds (including NetPath). As a platform owner, ensure platform stability, upgrades, patching, and day to day support.
• Has knowledge about network centric monitoring capabilities including SNMP polling, traps, and device visibility etc. Ensure new sites and devices are properly onboarded
• Partner with platform and cloud teams to ensure migrated workloads meet monitoring standards.
Systems Administration (must have)
• Provide sysadmin support for Linux and Windows servers, including:

Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC 5-axis Mazak Integrex in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
- Operate, perform set-up changes and first article inspections on production runs utilizing CNC Machines.
- Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
- Identify problems before production runs, then start and observe machine operation to detect any other malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
- Use precision measuring instruments, read blueprints, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance and tooling requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and cutting tools to be used.
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Position Objective: Responsible for engineering documentation including blueprint reading and GD&T tolerances. Develop, optimize and maintain machine processes in a fast-paced production shop. Responsibilities include CAD design, CNC programming, creation of tool list, setup and part finishing documents. CNC equipment includes but is not limited to CNC turning centers with live tooling, CNC mills/lathes, lasers, CNC turret punches, and other computer operated equipment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work from customer's drawings and solid models to create, optimize and maintain CNC programs primarily for processing turned parts
- Must have a working knowledge of GD&T, fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to transition between SI and metric units. Proper use of various measuring tools including Vernier calipers, micrometers, tread gages, etc.
- Create manufacturing processes and programming in a timely manner to support production schedules and customer delivery dates.
- Working knowledge of G code, M code, tool selection, steel grade metallurgy, tool geometry and coatings
- Assist on tooling design and development strategy within the programming team.
- Initiate and participate in projects to implement cost reduction strategies related to CNC programming optimization, tool life management, and/or quality improvement.
- Initiate Engineering Change Requests as required to ensure issues with CNC programs and related documentation are properly addressed and documented.
- Assist in the quoting process by providing setup and run time estimates for turned parts as well as material requirements, process steps and tooling requirements.
- Ensure changeover documentation for all CNC processes are current, accurate and standardized throughout the company.
- Ensure production and shipping schedules are met.
- Perform all other tasks or responsibilities as delegated by the Plant Manager/Site Leader.
Experience/Skills:
- Previous experience working with CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 4 years programming Horizontal lathes and Vertical Turning Lathes required
- Minimum 1 years working CAD software (AutoCAD) Required
- Minimum 4 years working with Master Cam preferred
- Knowledge of Unigraphs software is a plus

Job Summary
Provides technical and operational assistance to assigned machining areas by reviewing, preparing, and overseeing necessary documents, tools, and programs. Coordinates efforts with Production Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure the timely setup and operation of gear grind machines by:
- Reading work orders and specification sheets before starting the job.
- Properly powering up and down the machine.
- Loading and unloading parts.
- Ensuring proper tooling for each machine.
- Preparing required tooling for the upcoming work orders.
- Troubleshooting setup or production run problems.
- Tracking tool locations and recommending improvements based on experience.
- Standardize tooling on all similar machines
- Checking parts on Gleason Gear Checker without having to wait for quality.
- Report grinding wheel inventory weekly to insure stock to Production Supervisor and Gear Engineer.
- Ensures all parts are to the required specifications by:
- Maintaining and continuously improving the quality of parts produced.
- Reading blueprints, sketches, Quality docs, to ensure parts are produced to acceptable limits.
- Verifying conformance of finished work piece specifications.
- Following and maintaining ISO and Schafer procedures.
- Ensure the operational effectiveness of all assigned equipment by:
- Conducting all assigned and necessary preventative maintenance procedures daily.
- Starting and observing machine operations to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
- Working with maintenance on machines (and equipment) and testing operations of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
- Conferring with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining problems.
4. Responsible for supporting the Schafer Business Process by:
- Maintaining and continuously improving productivity of assigned machines.
- Continuously looking at tool life and new tooling to cut costs on tools.
- Reducing downtime of machines setups
- Maintaining the 6S program in assigned area.
- Supporting all Schafer policies and procedures.
- Reporting to the Supervisor when assignments cannot be completed or cannot hit the book rate.
- Providing input and assistance with the implementation of quality improvements.
- Resolving problems.
- Performing other job-related duties as required.
- Helping evaluate job applicant's knowledge for the cell prior to Schafer hiring.
- Passing along vital information that pertains to the existing job to the next shift.
- Training new personnel in the operation of assigned machines.
