Position Overview
VMG is seeking a motivated and community-driven Bilingual Recruiter (English/Spanish) to join our Human Resources team and support the hiring of hourly field and shop roles across our mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal divisions.
This is a remote position based out of our Sterling, VA headquarters. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience recruiting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly field and shop roles (HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, service, warehouse, etc.)
- Source, screen, and interview candidates in both English and Spanish
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and hiring timelines
- Attend job fairs, trade events, and community hiring events to promote VMG opportunities
- Develop partnerships with local high schools, trade schools, workforce development programs, and community organizations
- Build and maintain a pipeline of skilled trades talent
- Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience
- Support onboarding coordination and new hire processes
- Assist with HR initiatives such as employee engagement efforts, compliance documentation, and internal communications as needed
- Collaborate with the HR team to support evolving workforce and organizational needs
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
- 2+ years of recruiting experience, primarily focused on hourly roles

- Responsible for leading all estimates up to $20M, compiling accurate bid documents – including take-off and summary of all materials, fixtures, and equipment, along with evaluation of labor, material, and equipment costs. Experience managing multiple, simultaneous projects.
- The individual should possess Process Piping expertise relating to plan layouts, schematics, P & IDs, and specifications. Plumbing, HVAC and Sheet metal knowledge a plus.
- This individual will solicit and evaluate, with assistance from the Purchasing Department, multiple subcontractor and equipment quotes, understand construction field conditions, and prepare schedules encompassing this information.
- Skilled in reading and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Ability to accurately compile a summary of materials, equipment, and labor.
- Understand construction field conditions, means and methods, and project schedules.
- Quickpen / Autobid software experience preferred.

Duties include but aren't limited to:
• Works in turnover and renovation units, as well as responds to maintenance service requests.
• Works on external, as well as internal repairs which may include, but is not limited to, drywall repairs, painting, fence and gate repairs, plumbing installation or repairs, appliance repairs, boilers and HVAC systems, and common area clean-up.
• Participates in emergency and after hours coverage based on the established schedule or as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in performing quality work; able to use required tools and machinery; professional interaction with co-workers, residents and vendors; knowledge and continued education of OSHA requirements; knowledge of MSDS requirements appropriate to the scope of work.
• Ability to read and interpret service orders and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• High school diploma or GED, technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent customer service skills a must!
• HVAC, EPA, CPO certifications preferred.
• Ability to work weekends required.
