Butler Aerospace & Defense is seeking an experienced technical writer to work in our writing group authoring maintenance publications.

This position is in support of contracted technical publication revision services and the creation of new publications.

This is a remote work position.

Areas of Responsibility/Essential Functions:
* Under general direction and according to standard practice, the technical writer works independently on the analysis, organization, and writing of assigned portions of aircraft maintenance publications.
* Performs a variety of duties in preparing technical writing assignments, covering portions of aircraft maintenance publications
* Research, writing, and development of portions of aircraft maintenance publications according to the governing specification and published standard work
* Develop concise, complete, technically accurate, and easy to understand technical information in a timely fashion with a very high level of quality
* Exercise initiative and judgment in carrying out detail writing assignments working from engineering drawings, specifications, performance data, or other similar literature.

Judgment required compiling and selecting technical data for text and illustrations
* Develop and coordinate the revision/creation of technical illustrations with illustrators on form and content of illustrations in support of aircraft maintenance publications
* Provide frequent status to supervision

Responsible for safely operating a Company vehicle to deliver product to customers. Manually loads and unloads delivery truck, verifies parts loaded and unloaded, collects payments from customers, obtains signatures from receiving locations confirming accuracy of parts unloaded/loaded and delivers returned items back to the location.

Essential Job Duties

• Drive a Company vehicle in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner avoiding traffic violations and accidents.
• Physically load Company truck at the location and verify the condition of the truck, the manifest, and other paperwork associated with the deliveries to be made.
• Drive to the delivery destination and physically unload the truck, verify parts unloaded, obtain signature of receiving location, confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received, and sign off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location.
• Make proper notations on the manifest and provide receipts on parts being returned from customers to the location.
• Collect accounts receivable, as necessary.
• Comply with established Company policies and procedures.

Supervisory and managerial experience is desirable. Working knowledge of statistics and epidemiological principles is required. Computer skills required include proficiency in the following Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; graphics display programs such as QI Macros, as well as a level of comfort with learning and adapting to new programs

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current certification in Infection Prevention and Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology is required. Must have current State of Texas professional nursing licensure

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports the Director, Infection Control, in providing a robust, comprehensive health system wide infection control program in accordance with current standards of practice and in compliance with regulatory agencies and governmental policies and procedures. The principle goals of the infection control program include protecting patients, healthcare workers, volunteers, students, visitors, and others in the healthcare environment; and accomplishing the goals in a cost-effective manner

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years of infection prevention experience within a hospital setting required with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing or higher required. Three years of recent infection prevention experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.
