The current full-time salary range for this position is $75,301 - $199,722. TSP hourly rate: $150-400. We hire for both lecturer and TSP positions. TSPs teach short courses on one or more of the topic areas listed. Most TSP courses are taught in a 'bootcamp' 8-day format in early August and early January.

Lecturers and TSPs are responsible for the course syllabus, curriculum development and delivery, holding office hours, student assessment through relevant projects, presentations, problem sets, exams, and/or class attendance and participation, and assigning grades.

Someone working as an automotive technician or electrical technician would be a good target. They can teach some of the testing and reading of schematics if needed. Candidates must be familiar working with the tools/machinery.
MAJOR PURPOSE:
Working in the Accelerated Design Verification (ADV) group to provide project support performing test setup, monitoring, inspection, and reporting using procedures and criteria set forth in the test plan. This is a 3rd shift position. (10p-6:30a).
MAJOR DUTIES:
Assembly of test rigs based on layout drawings and setup instructions. This includes:
Mechanical assembly using hand tools and battery/air impact wrenches
Use of overhead cranes
Connecting hydraulic plumbing
Connecting electrical control cables
Requires bending, kneeling, working at floor level
Must be able to lift 25 lbs
Document any changes to the setup procedure and layout drawings for continuous improvement.
Monitor and adjust test controls as necessary to keep the tests running efficiently.
Perform test specimen inspections and make repairs as required by the defined test parameters.
Document all test related incidents and activities using a web-based application.
Contact the appropriate personnel as required to prevent safety issues, environmental issues, and failures to test equipment or specimens and perform emergency shutoff procedures if necessary.
Perform routine lab maintenance and cleaning. Including, but not limited to, mopping, vacuuming, organizing, and putting away tools/equipment in the lab.
Pick up parts from the Parts Distribution Center and perform various other errands.

The Fung Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturer positions in Design and Technology Innovation should an opening arise. We seek candidates that have experience to teach a 3-unit fall and/or spring course for undergraduates who have been selected for the Fung Fellowship for Technology Innovations, a one-year program that develops leadership, teaming, storytelling, technology innovation, and human centered design. This lecturer pool has been generated in case of need for teaching for two courses: (1) Health + Tech Innovations course and (2) Conservation + Tech Innovations course. The number of positions may vary from semester to semester, depending upon the teaching needs of the School.

General Duties: Curriculum development and teaching that involves an experiential approach to participatory learning that includes community engagement and innovative problem-solving. - Validate evolving cost estimates, contingencies, and allowances throughout design development, identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options to protect and enhance project margins.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate design-related commercial risks, including constructability, scope gaps, escalation exposure, and design schedule impacts.
- Confirm designs are fully coordinated and commercially executable prior to construction handoff, minimizing downstream changes, claims, and margin erosion.
Construction Phase Design Oversight & Commercial Support
- Serve as the primary design authority during construction, providing technical leadership and commercial support to project managers, superintendents, and field teams.
- Support interpretation of drawings, specifications, and design intent while assessing cost, schedule, and contractual implications of design decisions.
- Review and respond to requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and design clarifications with a focus on minimizing commercial exposure and avoiding schedule disruption.
- Evaluate proposed field changes, substitutions, and value engineering initiatives for technical feasibility, constructability, cost impact, risk allocation, and contract compliance.
- Lead coordination with architects, engineers, design-assist partners, and subcontractors to negotiate and resolve design-related issues encountered during construction.
- Ensure all approved design changes are accurately incorporated into revised documents and as-built records, maintaining alignment with contract requirements.
- Monitor construction activities for adherence to approved design documents.
- Support commissioning, testing, and closeout activities to ensure systems perform as designed and contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain alignment between design intent, construction execution, and financial performance, actively supporting margin protection, change management, and dispute avoidance.
Education and Experience Required:
Required:
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in detailed design, estimating, and commercial support within the building construction industry.
- Proven leadership managing multidisciplinary design teams in Design/Build environments.
- Demonstrated success in commercial negotiations with owners, consultants, and trade partners.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD/BIM platforms and design standards.
- Strong working knowledge of building codes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to balance technical and commercial priorities.
Preferred:
- Leadership on large-scale, complex, multi-disciplinary Design/Build projects.
- Direct involvement in contract negotiations, design fee agreements, and change management.
- Strong track record of providing commercial and risk-management support to project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.

The Industrial Automation Engineering Director is responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on the successful execution of manufacturing engineering projects. This includes overseeing all aspects of project implementation, from initial processing, design and development to final production launch at the assembly site. The Execution Senior Manager will work closely with cross functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will be involved with setting the direction for the future of our manufacturing process. This position takes on a high level of independent decision making and communication as the lead onsite during project installation and startup.
Job Responsibilities
β’ Develop and implement project plans, investment required, timelines, and budgets.
β’ Monitor project progress, identify and resolve roadblocks, and mitigate risks.
β’ Ensure adherence to engineering standards, best practices, bill of process, bill of equipment, safety, and regulatory requirements.

β’ 8+ years of progressive experience in warehouse/distribution center design and
optimization in large-scale projects
β’ Demonstrated track record of end-to-end warehouse design implementations
β’ Strong proficiency in project management methodologies, such as Agile and Six Sigma,
ensuring efficient project execution and continuous improvement.
β’ Experience with processing equipment, throughput, and comprehensive understanding
of manufacturing processes, enabling effective design and production.
β’ In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
methodologies, fostering operational efficiency and waste reduction.
β’ A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working
environment for all team members.
β’ Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to
thrive in fast-paced settings. Experience with reliability and maintainability of
processing equipment, standalone availability, and throughput.
