Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) containing both through-hole and surface-mounted components
  • Perform SMT/SMD chip removal and replacement using soldering irons and hot-air rework stations
  • Remove and replace through-hole components
  • Identify and recognize electronic components and IC packages
  • Perform trace repair and board-level troubleshooting
  • Use diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters (DVM), oscilloscopes, and other electronic testing equipment
  • Conduct testing and inspection to ensure repaired modules meet quality standards
  • Assist with TIPM module testing, repair, and refurbishment

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of electronic components and circuits

Position Description

In this role, you’ll be the lead over a team of 3 hardware engineers, doing design, test, debugging, and release of power inverters and converters (10-300 kW). Your responsibilities will be a mix of hands-on development and guiding team members through the full development life-cycle, from concept to release into high volume production.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate customer/project requirements and selecting appropriate topologies for DC/AC and DC/DC applications
  • Select active semiconductor switching devices as well as passive components required for converter power circuits (capacitors, inductors, transformers, etc.)
  • Have a hand in multiple projects (3-5)
  • Analyze switching and transient behavior of devices to determine limits, proper gating, operation and implementation
  • Design analysis including modeling, simulation, and control loops
  • Optimize designs with an eye toward efficiency, density, and cost
  • Conduct design reviews and follow NPI process
  • Perform hands-on lab work building and debugging prototypes
  • Lead the interface with contractors to outsource project tasks, track the progress per project schedule, and report it to management team


Qualifications

  • BSEE (focus on power electronics) with 8+ years of experience in full development life-cycle power electronics development at the board-level (digital, analog, and power electronic circuit design).
  • Background developing power electronics in the range of 100-300 kW.
  • Experience either as a lead engineer or as a senior engineer, ready to step into a lead-level role.
  • Strong understanding of areas such as:
  • - power inverters
  • - 3-phase power systems
  • - space vector, sinusoidal, and/or discontinuous PWM schemes
  • - SiC and GaN devices
  • - Circuit simulation software (Matlab, Simulink, LTSpice, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the proven ability to mentor engineers and be a primary point of contact for the team.

Job Summary:

Manages a team of chemists/scientists/technicians and executes pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape prototype development, scale-up, and product launch in various applications. The group leader will focus on platform technology development, new product development for customer-driven projects, as well as continuous improvement and cost reduction of existing products and processes. Emphasis on acrylic polymer synthesis, silicone and rubber adhesive formulations, PSA rheology, knowledge of tape assemblies, backing material selection, and release liner familiarity. Works with customers and AR teams to collect design input and develop new product design strategies. Technical and laboratory lead in developing new adhesive solutions, robust products, and basic production processes that can be successfully commercialized.


Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and directs research programs for new product development and product/process improvement of current products. Responsible for complex basic research and/or product development projects.
  • Leads lab personnel and facilitates development of product constructions and processes; designs & conducts chemical experiments on both lab- and production-scale; designs and specifies production scale processes and contributes to product validation.
  • Conducts and directs required laboratory work to develop new PSA and tape assemblies including polymerization, formulation, coating and testing. Develops new products that lead to sustainable commercial revenue.
  • Completes any necessary regulatory forms. Ensures team follows similar protocols and procedures.
