What is the opportunity?


Reporting to the General Manager, VPI Product Line, the Manager, Quality Assurance responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s quality management system in compliance with ASME standards and ISO 9001 requirements. This role ensures that all products and processes meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.


  • Oversee and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and audit QMS policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to ASME certification programs and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including ASME and ISO certification audits.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Manage and mentor the QA team, ensuring proper training on ASME and ISO requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.

Job Responsibilities


  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing dealer, contractor, and builder partners to increase sales and revenue
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within the territory
  • Grow the business by actively engaging contractors, dealers, and customers throughout the territory
  • Conduct consistent field visits, jobsite meetings, and customer training opportunities
  • Maintain a strong and consistent presence in the field through customer visits, jobsite engagement, and local industry involvement
  • Collaborate closely with operations, customer care, logistics, and internal teams to support project execution and customer success
  • Analyze market trends and develop action plans to capitalize on local opportunities
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, territory plans, and activity updates for monthly meetings
  • Deliver product education, collateral, and sales support materials to customers
  • Maintain and update showroom displays as needed
  • Utilize CRM tools (Salesforce) to manage pipeline activity, track opportunities, and support territory growth
  • Participate in industry events, trainings, plant tours, and association activities to build brand presence and relationships
  • Success in this role comes from staying visible in the market, building new relationships, and consistently creating opportunities through daily field activity


Job Requirements

  • Frequent in-market travel, customer visits, and jobsite engagement required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education
  • 5+ years of related sales experience managing a multi-million-dollar territory
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and drive new business development
  • Experience within construction, hardscape, building materials, or related industries preferred
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability for territory growth
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced territory with shifting priorities
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, customer care, and internal teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Ability to lift and carry concrete samples as required
  • Ability to perform repetitive wrist/hand motions using computer and keyboard
  • Must wear company-provided PPE when required on jobsites (hard hat, safety boots/shoes, protective glasses, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Preferred Bilingual - Spanish and English



Compensation


  • Base salary is $80,000 – $90,000
  • Annual commission is $15,000 – $30,000
  • Bonus eligible based on performance and territory results

General Description

This experienced individual will manage and oversee all activities related to the QC function including oversight of the divisions quality assurance plan, laboratory quality system plan, research and development, mix designs, binder testing and certification, and other relevant QC managerial duties to meet the needs of the liquid asphlat terminal operations. In addition, the right candidate will provide guidance to the personal development of others within the QC Division including training, performance management, and safety. This position will work in conjunction with the Terminal Manager and will report directly to the Division Manager of Liquid Asphalt.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, direction, development and organization to all terminal staff.
  • Responsibility for all administrative duties, recordkeeping, and reporting in regards to the terminal facility.
  • Oversees and directs inventory control and manufacturing operations (where applicable).
  • Responsible for directing incoming product receipts, inter-plant disposition, product blending, transfers and shipments.
  • Develops and maintains a hands on working knowledge of all operational manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Responsible for local oversight of plant facilities, maintenance, repairs and expansion projects.
  • Ensures plant and offices are kept clean, organized, free from clutter and hazards. Sees that they are maintained in a secure and proper working order.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all tests and product specification requirements and coordinates with technical personnel to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Oversees and continuously develops relationships at the plant level with customers, transportation representatives, and agency personnel.
  • Responsibility for development and enforcement of safety and environmental programs along with Agency compliance, documentation, and reporting.
  • Manages cost control and local purchasing of equipment, raw materials, and supplies for routine operations of the plan and recommends to management needs for any capital expenditures.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or Business Management preferred.
  • NBTC – National Binder Technician Certification
  • Minimum 5 years’ prior experience with asphalt terminal operations and product receipts by truck, rail and barge or alternately within a chemical processing environment. Polymer processing and emulsions a plus (where applicable).
  • Proven track record of operations leadership, team building and personnel development.
  • Working knowledge in Industrial Safety and environmental compliance reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interact effectively with suppliers, peers, customers and agency personnel to manage logistical, operational, reporting, or product quality issues.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills, mechanical skills and problem solving ability.
  • Competency at prioritizing, making effective decisions, and implementing change.
  • Strong recordkeeping and organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to master local operational software
  • Valid Driver’s license required.

Physical Demands

  • Must be available to work full days and periodic alternate shifts. Requires ability to periodically work long hours, multiple shifts, nights and weekends included.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and able to bend, stoop and kneel as needed.
  • Able to enter confined spaces and wear proper PPE when required.
  • Able to climb railcars and tanks.
  • Requires working in office conditions, performing some clerical work, working periodically outside in a manufacturing plant environment, with and around operational process equipment in varying temperature zones for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work around asphalt and other related chemicals on an ongoing basis.
  • Able to lift 50-75lbs. repetitively as needed

  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
  • Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.
