The Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) at Georgia Tech is a research and analytics service unit dedicated to supporting the campus community. Job Summary
Data Analysts analyze data, interpret trends and patterns, and provide insights to support decision-making processes. They develop data models, perform data mining and statistical analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize data-driven strategies.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources, databases, and systems to extract insights, trends, and patterns that inform business decisions, strategies, and operations.

Responsibilities
The Institutional Research Data Analyst will also be expected to perform various duties specific to institutional research, including but not limited to:
- Responding to intermediate to high difficulty/complexity ad-hoc data and analysis requests
- Adhering to federal, state, and institutional policies, regulations, and requirements related to data security, privacy, and governance
Completing or supporting the completion of externally-driven compliance and data-related reporting including
- Federal, e.g., IPEDS, NSF-HERD, NSF-GSS, etc.

Educational Requirements

Team & Mission
The Privacy & Conversion Data team is responsible for how the company safely and compliantly uses conversion data to power monetization. We build and operate the core privacy infrastructure behind ads reporting and optimization, including controlled data environments, finegrained access controls, centralized privacy rules enforcement, and deidentification pipelines for conversion data. Our mission is to make conversion data privacypreserving by default-centralized, deidentified, auditable, and easy for teams to use, while maintaining high utility for advertisers and staying ahead of an evolving global regulatory landscape.
Role Summary
We're seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the architecture and technical direction for the conversion data privacy platform, spanning both core Conversion Data systems and deidentification for ads reporting. You'll own the endtoend design and evolution of privacycritical pipelines and services, partner closely with Product, Data Science, Legal, and infrastructure teams, and set the technical bar for how we use conversion data safely at scale.
What you'll do:
- Lead the technical strategy and architecture for conversion data privacy across access controls, deidentification, deletion, and privacy rules enforcement, driving toward a centralized, deidentifiedbydefault, automated privacy platform for monetization.
- Design and evolve core privacy infrastructure including controlled environments for sensitive data, finegrained authorization and policy enforcement, and a central policy repository that consistently governs access across major data platforms and query engines.
- Own deidentification pipelines for ads reporting endtoend-from separating sensitive and nonsensitive data, applying deidentification techniques and transformations, and generating privacypreserving datasets, to validating data utility and feeding reporting and analytics surfaces.
- Build and improve privacy frameworks and tooling (for both online and offline workflows) that make safe, compliant conversion data usage simple and selfservice for downstream teams, reducing onboarding friction for new datasets, restrictions, and use cases.
- Drive operational excellence and compliance by defining SLAs, building robust monitoring and alerting (e.g., deidentification quality, optout metrics, data leakages), leading incident response, and developing performant deletion and leakagehandling workflows that meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- Partner crossfunctionally with ads, data, product, legal, and infrastructure stakeholders to translate legal/privacy requirements into technical designs, make clear tradeoffs between privacy and utility, and drive alignment on roadmaps, launches, and policy changes that impact advertisers and users.
- Mentor and uplevel engineers across multiple teams, lead critical design and code reviews in privacysensitive areas, and establish best practices and documentation for privacybydesign, deidentification, and largescale data systems.
What we're looking for:
- BS+ in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on largescale data systems or distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency building and operating data pipelines and services using Java/Scala/Kotlin or Python, plus SQL; experience with modern big data ecosystems is a plus.
- Experience designing secure, reliable systems and APIs, with solid grounding in data modeling, access control, and performance optimization.
- Meaningful experience in at least one of: privacypreserving data systems (e.g., deidentification, kanonymity), ads measurement/attribution, or largescale analytics/experimentation platforms.
- Proven ability to drive crossteam technical initiatives from design through rollout, working closely with product, data science, and nonengineering partners (e.g., Legal, Compliance).
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring engineers, raising engineering standards, and making sound decisions in ambiguous, highimpact problem spaces.

Position Summary:
The IBP Strategic Data Analyst will manage, maintain, govern, and analyze SAP MRP and all modules of Planning systems/Platforms. Master Data to ensure and measure integrity, accuracy, and consistency. Provide clear direction, training and lead activities related to master data management and settings within the systems. The IBP Strategic Data Analyst will leverage data-driven insights and best practices to reduce costs, and support business growth initiatives for plant production of a quality, cost-effective product delivered to customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure effective Master Data Management (Planning and MRP) and system functionality through governance, routines, reports, and stakeholder collaboration. Maintain SAP MRP and Planning data integrity—ensuring reliability, completeness, and accuracy for optimal supply chain, inventory, and transportation planning. Conduct audits, implement data validation, and recommend system enhancements to improve SAP and Planning System utilization. Support new product introductions, promotional packaging, and seasonal inventory planning by coordinating with stakeholders and tracking KPIs.
- Deliver training and analytical reports to enhance operational practices and system utilization. Drive continuous improvement in MRP/Planning through root cause analysis and performance reporting. Establish standards, governance, and compliance while providing data-driven insights for decision-making. The Data Scientist Lead will work with other members of the AI COE and business leadership to identify and execute the highest-impact initiatives, own the data science lifecycle, from hypothesis and feature engineering to model validation and performance monitoring; bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI capabilities and practical business applications.

You’ll Be Successful With
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years in Data Science or Applied AI roles, preferably in retail or a customer-facing industry.
- Proven track record of moving models from development into production which deliver measurable impact to the business.
- Expert proficiency in Python and SQL. Comfortable with version control.
- Expertise in supervised/unsupervised learning and modern frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow).
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, or AI agent development.

Your Day Consists Of
- Buy vs Build leadership. Evaluate 3rd-party AI platforms and partnerships. Serve as the technical lead in vetting vendor methodologies, guiding the in-house vs external decisioning.
- Partner with business leadership to identify high-value AI opportunities, defining technical specifications and success metrics that align with enterprise strategy.
- Design, develop, and deploy custom machine learning models (impacting merchandising, commercial, labor, digital, etc.) within the Databricks environment.
- Lead experimentation design, including A/B testing and causal inference, to validate model performance and measure true incremental business lift (ROI).
- Collaborate with data engineers on feature development and with AI developers to wrap models into production-grade APIs and applications.
- Partner closely with the Customer Insights team to ensure model outputs are optimized for consumption within Power BI/DAX, turning complex predictions into actionable insights.
- Establish and enforce MLOps standards across the org, including model versioning, automated retraining, and drift monitoring.
- Serve as the primary ML subject matter expert for the broader Data Science & Insights team. Provide active coaching to analytics leaders, empowering them to identify ML-applicable use cases and effectively incorporate predictive outputs into their own functional workstreams.
- Contribute to the enterprise AI governance framework, ensuring ethical AI practices, data privacy compliance, and model transparency.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership and cross-functional partners in clear, compelling formats.

We are seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our identity services and data governance platform. This role is critical to ensuring trusted, privacy-safe, and well-governed data across the organization. You will work at the intersection of data engineering, identity resolution, privacy, and platform reliability.This is anindividual contributor role, where you will work to define and implement a strategic vision for data engineering within the organization.
What you'll do:
- Identity Services:
- Design and maintain a scalable identity resolution platform
- Build pipelines and services to ingest, normalize, link, and version identity data across multiple sources
- Ensure deterministic and probabilistic matching logic that is transparent, auditable, and measurable
- Partner with product and analytics teams to expose identity data through reliable, well-documented APIs and datasets
- Build and operate batch and streaming pipelines using modern data stack tools
- Create clear documentation, standards, and runbooks for identity and governance systems
- Data Governance & Trust
- Own data governance foundations including data lineage, quality checks, schema enforcement, and access controls
- Implement privacy-by-design principles (PII handling, consent enforcement, retention policies)
- Collaborate with legal, privacy, and security teams to operationalize regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Establish monitoring and alerting for data quality, freshness, and integrity
What we're looking for:
- Data engineering experience with proven track record building data infrastructure using Spark with Scala
- Proven experience building data infrastructure using Spark with Scala for at least 5 years
- Experience in delivering significant technical initiatives and building reliable, large scale services
- Experience in delivering APIs backed by relationship-heavy datasets
- Experience implementing data governance practices, including data quality, metadata management, and access controls
- Strong understanding of privacy-by-design principles and handling of sensitive or regulated data
- Familiarity with data lakes, cloud warehouses, and storage formats
- Strong proficiency in AWS services
- Successful design and implementation of scalable and efficient data infrastructure
- High attention to detail in implementation of automated data quality checks
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
