Base Pay:

This position encompasses multiple internal levels with differing pay bands. The broad salary range below represents the lowest and highest pay possible across Levels 1 (less than 5 years of experience) and 2 (5-9 years of experience) in King County.


Typically, we hire King County Paralegal candidates with 3-5 years of experience within the expected hiring range below. Actual pay rate is determined based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and relevant credentials.

TITLE: ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY


LOCATION: Strafford County Attorney’s Office, Dover, NH 03820


QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Applicant must be member in good standing of the New Hampshire Bar Association and have a J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Applicant must be able to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, be organized, have communication skills, and be an effective team member
  • Mandatory criminal record check is required for all new employees


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position is for a trial attorney with a focus on felony-level criminal prosecution
  • ACA will be responsible for reviewing case files, assisting police with building criminal investigations, making charging decisions, and presenting cases to the Grand Jury.
  • ACA will prepare and conduct required pre-trial litigation related to the assigned caseload in the Strafford Superior Court. ACA will work closely with victim assistance to ensure that victim’s rights are protected throughout prosecution
  • ACA will prepare assigned cases for jury trial and handle all non-appellate post-conviction related matters

The Role:

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution

• Conduct client consultations, investigations, and negotiations for settlements

• Prepare for and handle depositions, discovery, motions, and trials

• Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys and support staff

• Advocate fiercely for plaintiffs in cases involving auto accidents, premises liability, product defects, and more


About you: 7+ years of experience in Personal Injury (PI) litigation, preferably on the plaintiffs' side.
