SUMMARY: Responsible for overall statistical process control software setup by safely performing all testing procedures and ensuring conformance to established specifications. Additionally, manage shift quality improvement initiatives through training, awareness, and analysis of facts and data.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the STOP Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation's efforts to achieve a zero accident rate.
  • Implementation of SPC Software Package.
  • Analyze trends in production/process data through statistical evaluation methods.
  • Determines test objectives and standards by studying software requirements; writing test cycle plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Meets test objectives by determining testing methods, cycles, phases, and conditions; setting up testing environment and equipment.
  • Identifies software capability and reliability by conducting functional, system, and performance tests and resolves testing problems.
  • Completes tests by training and directing others that will use the system.
  • Maintains testing database by developing defect tracking and regression testing information requirements; designing information system; enters test outcomes; secures data.
  • Reports test outcomes by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, and displaying data; recommending software changes.
  • Maintains test environment by developing test environment; enforcing and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager in determining Process Capabilities within the Laboratory and out on the Production Floor.
  • Assist with raw material and/or quality issues; i.e., completion of and facilitation of reject/hold forms, supplier certification, customer complaint investigations, etc.
  • Maintain Manufacturing Specifications and Operating Specifications.
  • Analyze and Recommend Optimal QA Testing Requirement.
  • Support Process/Product Trials through active involvement with Suppliers/Vendors, Customers, Manufacturing and Technical.
  • Maintain a safe and organized laboratory area.
  • Review and accurately file all production test data.
  • Maintain and update Raw Material Specification files.
  • Review, verify and file all Supplier Certifications.
  • Prepare, verify and submit requested COA's for customers.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings (Continuous Quality Improvement, safety, special projects, departmental, etc.).
  • Strictly adhere to all company uniform guidelines.

Requirements

In addition, candidates with experience in Test Driven Development (TDD), strong knowledge and understanding of test methodologies, demonstrated technical ability to understand test code and familiarity with quality assurance processes/procedures is preferred. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Customer Account Specialist


LOCATION: Rochester, NY


SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm


SUMMARY: To professionally and effectively communicate with customers and respond to customer requests for order placement, delivery of finished goods, quotations and all other inquires or requested information. To service both the external and internal customer by accurately and efficiently processing information by means of systems and procedures.


REPORTS TO: Customer Service Manager


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the SPOT Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation's efforts to achieve a zero-accident rate.
  • Verify purchase order information with customers.
  • Request customer numbers and specification sheets from the appropriate departments as needed.
  • Data entry of information into the AS400/Radius order entry programs (create item numbers, etc.)
  • Identify and collect all information required for creating orders.
  • Authorize and provide information for invoicing all graphics related preparation, plate, and cylinder costs.
  • Follow Up with scheduling until acknowledged have ready date is acquired.
  • Distribute order to appropriate departments and send out order acknowledgment to customer.
  • Processing all changes to orders when required.
  • Create shipping releases in AS400/Radius program, make any needed changes, and track open shipments.
  • Track open releases, verify finished goods availability, and notify customer of any quantity deviation.
  • Generate account specific reports including but not limited to inventory of finished goods, raw materials, order status as needed.
  • If applicable, maintain Vendor Managed Inventory programs through weekly reporting to customer. Some programs also require that the customer account specialist place the orders for the customers under specific guidelines set by them.
  • Investigate all customer related inquires. Expedite information to customer, sales representative, and/or manufacturing including, but not limited to the processing of price quotations, samples, brochures, or any other pertinent information necessary in obtaining or maintaining new business.
  • Monitor aged inventory and communicate procedures to customers, and APC Sales team to ensure timely pre-billing and/or shipping of aged inventory.
  • Professionally and effectively respond to any and all customer complaints through following procedures:
  • I. Retrieve required and appropriate information from customer or sales.
  • II. Complete and distribute complaint form to appropriate departments, provide photos to APC's Quality department, and request samples from the customer.
  • III. Follow up until appropriate disposition of complaint is provided.
  • IV. Provide corrective action to customer, ensuring satisfactory resolution.
  • Investigate and provide the necessary information to both external and internal customers as may be requested or deemed necessary, which may not be specifically outlined above.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings (Continuous Quality Improvement, safety, special projects, departmental, etc.).
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Business travel (infrequent) may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Roto/FPL Specific duties:

  • Provide graphics department with order information for artwork processing - entering design validation requirements - some customers may have more complexity/requirements due to how frequently they change and the volume
  • Generate final order from AS400/Radius with all required information for sign off by appropriate departments.
  • Complete and supply all necessary components included in Final Order Job Jacket(s).

  • Participate in developing, understanding and following all SOP's.
  • Read, understand, interpret and utilize all information retrieved from job jackets, manufacturing specifications, pouch specifications and print spec sheets.
  • Perform and manage all necessary cleaning and housekeeping duties.
  • Perform and manage machine set-ups/changeovers by utilizing the information on the job jacket and the pouch specification.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the quality standards associated with running a pouch machine. Conduct, document, interpret and act upon all data obtained during QA tests.
  • Understand the bar code system in order to properly scan all raw materials used in production to ensure accurate inventory control. Able to produce new tickets for all finished goods inventory and return to stock unused materials.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. This includes Shop Floor Reports which document production, waste, set up time and downtime and all Quality Assurance tests.
  • Successfully set up machine to customer specifications.
  • Successfully troubleshoot all mechanical problems and apply corrective action as needed. Make decision to contact the Maintenance Department when appropriate.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling/greasing machines.
  • Safely operate all necessary roll handling equipment to load work in process rolls onto machine.
  • Produce pouches within customer specifications while completing all necessary quality testing.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings, safety, special projects, departmental, etc.).
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all employees are wearing and using the appropriate PPE and following all safety procedures. Wearing your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a condition of employment.

  • Identify, investigate, and report all EHS or property damage incidents, accidents, or near misses through the Clarity system and email communication as appropriate.

  • Complete on Layered Process Audit per day as assigned by the provided press audit schedule. Audits to be completed electronically with the OGP Audit application via cellphone.

  • Submit production and process deviations, IT Helpdesk tickets, maintenance work orders, Dayforce entries for promotions, transfers, hiring, termination, etc.

  • Conduct accurate and complete production review and sign-off of product and process as required.

  • Responsible for time & attendance, completing performance/competency evaluations, competency/training logs, providing feedback, motivation, and disciplinary actions for employees in assigned department(s). Provide performance feedback to the team and work to continually develop their skills. Support career development plans for the team.

  • Engage with new employees through the onboarding process to ensure they have a positive experience. Ensure they receive effective training, and completion of the training documentation is thorough and on time.

  • Maintain IATF16949/ISO14001 documentation for the production floor.

  • Participate in the Hold process through evaluation, investigation, and management of Hold activities and red bin review.

  • Randomly verify that team members are completing box, bag, and water checks and documentation appropriately.

We are looking for a temporary (3-months) Video Editor who can take detailed direction, as well as loose concepts, and turn them into sleek, cool, and captivating videos. LOCATION: Rochester, NY


SCHEDULE: 12 hour shifts rotating day/night schedule


SUMMARY: Identifies and segregates defective material within individual slit rolls. Combines leftover good material into finished rolls and palletizes for shipment to the customer.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Facilitate on the job training and instruction for team members on the correct use of tools and equipment to ensure proper safety and operating procedures are followed.
  • Mounts slit rolls of product onto shaft of machine using lift cart. Removes rolls as well.
  • Sets up and makes necessary adjustments to the machine.
  • Must be able to identify defects and splice good material together per spec.
  • Reads and understands specs of products being run. Must know packaging materials required for palletizing finished product also. Occasionally uses hand tools to prepare packaging materials.
  • Completes daily production reports.
  • Operates stretch wrap machine to wrap finished pallets.
  • Regularly cleans machine and surrounding area.
  • Actively participates in safety programs and makes safety observations. Follows plant safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Dr Winder experience a plus.
