About the Role:
As a Pediatric Home Health Occupational Therapy Assistant, you’ll bring therapy into the comfort of a child’s home—where real-life skills are learned best! From improving fine motor skills to enhancing sensory processing, you’ll empower children to reach their full potential in everyday activities. An OTA will treat children's gross and fine motor skills, cognitive abilities, social development, and mastery of self-care routines and activities of daily living.
We serve the beautiful state of Colorado. All our therapists have the freedom to decide the specific locations within the State of Colorado which they serve, as well as the days and hours they work. We do offer telemedicine options for families under specific circumstances. All employees must be located in the State of Colorado upon start date.
What You’ll Do:
Provide play-based, goal-oriented therapy for children with developmental and medical needs under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
Implement treatment plans designed to help children build life skills, confidence, and independence.
Collaborate with families and caregivers to integrate therapy strategies into daily routines.
Deliver compassionate, one-on-one support in home and community settings.
Communicate effectively and consistently with supervising therapists, team members, service coordinators, translators, and administrative staff.
Assist in documenting progress notes, daily treatment logs, and discharge summaries per OASIS standards.
Maintain HIPAA compliance with all communication and documentation.
Participate in mandatory staff meetings and enjoy optional team bonding events to stay connected and informed.

Additional Information
Documentation Requirements
Treatment notes and discharges must be completed within 2 days of a visit.
Missed visit notes must be completed weekly according to the established schedule.
All notes are reviewed and co-signed by the supervising occupational therapist.
License & Training Requirements
Current DORA and NBCOT certification as a COTA.
Completion of state-mandated continuing education per DORA requirements.
Maintain current CPR certification.
Report any DUI, misdemeanor, or felony convictions or accusations to OASIS.

Summary:

We are seeking a Functional Family Therapist to join our team.
Starting Salary: $50,000 - $57,000 (Salary)
Bonus: $2,500 ($1,250 Sign-on bonus will be paid on your first paycheck and the $1,250 Retention bonus will be paid after 12 months of service.)
Join a service oriented, close-knit team providing Functional Family Therapy (FFT), a nationally recognized, evidence-based intervention to children and families in the KCMO area. The successful candidate for this position will receive training and certification in FFT, along with excellent clinical support.
The successful candidate for this position will work well independently, as the position is very autonomous with much flexibility in scheduling sessions. Caseloads are very manageable, as the FFT model supports caseloads of 10-14 families at a time.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Engages clients and families in a manner that demonstrates immediate responsiveness to family needs and maintains a strength-based relational focus. Persistent outreach efforts may be required.
- Utilizes the CSS system to document services and to plan treatment according to the FFT model.
- Utilize other systems required, such as MyAvatar, to manage confidential client information.
- Monitors progress in treatment and adjusts the phase of treatment as indicated.
- Demonstrates fidelity to the FFT model by use of the phase system
- Assures quality service for clients by addressing core issues within the family that contributed to the reasons for referral.

- Verifies physician orders prior to evaluation. Evaluates and diagnoses communication and swallowing disorders prior to administering treatments, incorporating psychological issues. Evaluations must include thorough reading of patient's chart & history; may include objective measurements relative to the patient’s diagnosis and condition. Establishes goals and plan of care in collaboration with the patient, his/her family and other healthcare workers as appropriate. Calls the physician if treatment ordered is not indicated.
- Administers and directs administration of all Speech Therapy treatment & modalities. Has knowledge of indications and contraindications. Checks frequently with patient for tolerance of modality given.
- Acquisitions appropriate equipment, checks for safety, and communicates the use of the equipment to the patient and family.
- Performs radiographic assessments of swallowing as ordered.
- Maintains contact with the referring physician regarding patient progress. Observes treatment effects & recommends changes to physician if indicated.
- Creates home programs for patients whenever indicated. Explains the program to patient, asking for return demonstrations and trains the family if needed.
- Directs and supervises Rehabilitation Assistants during Speech therapy treatments. Participates with on-the-job training of rehabilitation personnel.
- Maintains records of all patient treatments as required, information must include but is not limited to, subjective & objective information, assessment and plan for each treatment given or specific documentation for a specific area in which the therapy if provided.
- Promotes the team approach to delivery of rehabilitation services, while serving as a representative in the field of Speech Therapy.
- In collaboration with the rehabilitation team, develops and implements measures for quality assurance and participates in performance improvement activities.
- Maintains professional competence through continuing education and participation in appropriate professional groups. Obtains professional continuing education requirements to maintain licensure.
- Charges correlate with treatment session documentation and length of time in therapy.
- Maintains productivity standards.
Requirements:
Education:
- M.S. M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communicative Disorders or equivalent certified program. Previous clinical experience in a hospital setting.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years post CFY experience with at least one year experience with neurologically impaired adults and dysphagia preferred. Experience with evaluation (including radiographic assessment) and treatment of dysphagia required.
- Demonstrates accountability and skills in assessment/evaluation, decision making and time management
- Should have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses:
- Current New Mexico Speech & Language Pathology licensure & BLS certification required.

Job Summary and QualificationsResponsible for coordinating the delivery of clinical patient care. Collaborates with the Director of Respiratory Therapy in planning, organizing and delivery of services. Participates in monitoring the quality of care being provided and takes appropriate measures to assure the provision of high quality care.
