Position Overview

COMPA Industries is seeking an experienced Work Control Planner 2 to support operations and maintenance planning activities at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This role supports the execution plan of PF-4 glovebox installation and facility operations and requires the development and coordination of detailed work packages in a highly regulated nuclear environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting DOE, nuclear, industrial, or highly regulated facility operations and will be responsible for planning and developing safe, executable work packages that support maintenance, modification, and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review technical work packages, including labor, materials, time estimates, and safety requirements.
• Prepare step-by-step work instructions and procedures for operations, maintenance, and facility modifications.
• Plan work activities related to mechanical, electrical, chemical, or radiological systems within nuclear facilities.
• Identify and resolve work constraints, ensuring packages are ready for safe execution.
• Coordinate with engineers, maintenance teams, safety personnel, and project managers to support work execution.
• Ensure planning documentation complies with LANL and DOE safety and operational standards.
• Support work package closure activities and documentation review.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical discipline, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in work control planning, maintenance planning, or operations planning.
• Experience developing technical work packages, procedures, or planning documentation.
• Ability to work in high-hazard or highly regulated environments such as DOE, nuclear, defense, or industrial facilities.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting DOE or NNSA facilities.
• Familiarity with the following systems:
• MWP
• Primavera P6
• Asset Suite
• Experience in work control, maintenance planning, or facility operations in nuclear or industrial environments.
• PPA certification (Policy Procedure Writer) is a plus.

Work Environment & Schedule

• 100% onsite at Los Alamos National Laboratory (TA-55).
• 4/10 schedule supporting 24/7 operations including potential shift work:
• Tue–Fri Days (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Tue–Fri Nights (5:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
• Fri–Mon Days (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Fri–Mon Nights (5:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
• On-call and overtime may be required.

• Perform Lab Tests: Independently carry out routine quality control analyses following set procedures.
• Data Integrity & Documentation : Confidently handle all steps of testing, including preparation, execution, and accurate documentation.
• Check Results: Review test results for accuracy and consistency before submission.
• Report Issues: Identify and report any quality deviations (e.g., OOS) according to protocols.
• Initial OOS Testing: Conduct first-level tests for out-of-spec results as per procedures.
• Escalate Issues: Identify recurring problems and escalate them to the appropriate person or team.
• Maintain Equipment: Take care of assigned lab equipment, including calibration and basic maintenance, following GMP and safety standards.
• Meet Deadlines: Complete tests and submit results within required timeframes.
• Follow Safety Rules: Work in line with all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) guidelines.
• Problem Solving: Analyze special samples to help resolve lab or support in production issues.
• Manage Supplies: Order and manage lab materials and reagents to avoid shortages.
• Flexibility: Perform other tasks as needed to support lab operations.
• Physical requirements: Requires stand for extended periods while performing inspections or quality checks, repetitive hand and arm movements to handle samples and to operate testing equipment, ability to maintain focus and attention to detail during routine and repetitive tasks.

Knowledge and educational level

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Science, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control.
• Fluency in local language a requirement, other languages encouraged.

The Document Control Clerk is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining project documentation for construction projects. This role ensures that all documents are accurate, up to date, and properly stored, while supporting project teams with timely access to information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and organize project documents, including contracts, drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
• Track and log incoming and outgoing documents, ensuring proper version control
• Distribute documents to internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders as needed
• Ensure all documentation is filed accurately in both physical and electronic systems
• Assist with uploading and maintaining documents in systems such as Procore, Bluebeam, or SharePoint
• Monitor document deadlines and follow up with team members to ensure timely submissions
• Support project teams with administrative tasks and reporting
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with company and project standards

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative or construction-related training preferred
• 1+ year of experience in document control, administrative support, or construction environment preferred
• Familiarity with construction documents (RFIs, submittals, plans, etc.) is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with document management systems (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, SharePoint) preferred

The QA/QC/Warranty Manager will be responsible for evaluating owner warranty requests, scheduling subcontractors, and ultimately completing each warranty claim ensuring the highest level of service to the owner/client. This position identifies and coordinates warranty claims, proactively monitors resolution while promoting strong relationships with both internal and external customers.

Essential Functions

• Management of warranty claims. o Evaluate claims and determine the nature of the problem. If further clarification is needed, obtain all information prior to contacting the subcontractor.
• Within 24 hours of receipt of Warranty Claim from the Owner, provide the appropriate subcontractor notice of the claim via email.
• Works with Project Manager and Project Coordinator on the scheduling and coordination of the eleven (11) month warranty walk. Ensures all eleven (11) month warranty claims are resolved to the owner’s satisfaction.
• Conduct follow-up visits with the owner to assure customer satisfaction (i.e. 3 days, 5 days, 10 days, 30 days, 60 days)
• Hold subcontractors accountable for any substandard work and quality repairs.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all warranty-related communication.
• Provide accurate and timely information to General Superintendent and/or Vice President on the progress and scopes of warranty work.
• Evaluate subcontract performance as it relates to warranty requests. Provide up-to-date information to General Superintendent and/or Vice President as it relates to the quality of workmanship and details.
• Manage the correction of minor warranty-related issues such as paint, drywall, hardware, cleaning, concrete patches, trim carpentry, etc.
• Properly manage and maintain MYCON and rental tools/equipment. This includes maintenance records and a log of tools checked in and out.
• Perform inspections as directed on ongoing construction projects to ensure work is in accordance with construction documents. Inspections will principally address water and air intrusion
• Analyze the root causes of warranty claims and identify methods to reduce claims.
• Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
