Fashion Designer
Job Description
Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known, is looking for someone to join their team as a Designer. This role is onsite in New York City, New York.
*This is a 6-month W2 contract*
In this role, you will be responsible for creating original concepts that encompass style, color and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends.
What You Will Be Doing
- Produce sketches and make seasonal presentations of proposed designs
- Analyze fashion trends
- Partner with sourcing and materials development teams
- Provide basic fit and body block information and attend fit sessions
- Make appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years' experience in girls or women's design (knits or wovens)
- Proficient with Centric and Adobe Illustrator
- Experience working with vendors/factories
