Hiring: Clinical Supervisor Abraxas Academy
- 1000 Academy Drive, Morgantown, PA Salary: $75,000 Shift
- Varies Summary: This position is responsible for working directly with the Clinical Director to ensure regulatory compliance is being adhered to throughout the entire department and to assist in development of clinical programming and staff.

The Clinical Supervisor will assist in providing clinical services, implementing clinical service policy and standards, and supporting clinical development for the facility.

Essential Functions: Provides clinical services to assigned clients as per the guidelines of licensing agencies and ensures compliance with policies and procedures as well as with regulatory and licensing agencies.

Provides oversight for red flag residents in addition to assisting with all clinical services when needed to support department needs.

Assist Clinical Director with providing developmental supervisory conferences monthly for all clinicians.

Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Supervisor will assist in reviewing treatments plans to ensure regulatory compliance.

Coordinates interfacing of clinical services with education, medical, community services, family services, and the training department.

Performs individual and group therapy under the direction of the Clinical Director.

Provides appropriate documentation which includes: developing treatment plans and monthly reports on client behavior, attitude, achievement, education, and overall progress in the program.

Analyzes and interprets client records, behavior, progress, and treatment plans in relationship with treatment services.

Conducts client file reviews in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliance.

Supervises, assists with hiring, and evaluates staff performance of Clinicians and Case Managers, develops measurable objectives for necessary improvements and implements appropriate corrective action to staff adhering to human resources policies and utilizing human resources when necessary.

Assists with development of Clinicians, completing competency assessments and employee evaluations.

Confers with judges, probation officers, police, social service agencies, and community groups to assist with interpreting the facility goals and objectives and developing cooperative working relationships.

Participates in Multi-Disciplinary Treatment team meetings (MDT’s) regarding client behavior, diagnosis, and progress as a member of the treatment planning team.

Conducts in-service training and clinical consultations as well as assisting with regulatory compliance.

Serves as liaison with external contacts such as probation officers, family members, and other interested parties.

Assumes supervisory role in the absence of Clinical Director based upon program/facility requirements and licensure.

Serves as the primary contact by phone or in person for reviewing and approving/disapproving the physical and psychological condition of residents in a restraint which lasts beyond 30 minutes.

Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.

Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.

Minimum Requirements: The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including: Master’s Degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing or other related field and one year of clinical experience.

A minimum of one year experience supervising others.

Licensure is preferred Other Qualifications: At least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).

Non-communicable diseases physical exam.

Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence.

Valid registered vehicle insurance.

Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Definition

This position receives direction from higher level police supervisory/management staff.
Position Snapshot: The Animal Services Officer (ASO) is another "face of the Fontana Police Department." This is a uniformed position that works a 10-hour shift, both in the field and in the office. While driving an assigned work vehicle, the incumbent will communicate via the in-car computer or radio during their shift to respond to and complete calls for service. ASOs assist citizens and officers after being trained in methods for interacting with an array of animals. ASOs are entrusted to work independently, within a team environment, and to communicate with the public in a productive manner. Writing detailed reports, testifying in court, and being on-call are all requirements of the position. This all makes for a fulfilling and exciting work experience that won't leave you bored or short of challenges.

  • Patrol assigned areas of the City in City vehicle; capture wild, stray, and unlicensed animals for impounding; remove and transport dead and injured animals; under emergency conditions, destroy dangerous or grossly injured animals in the field using euthanasia procedures or arrange for proper destruction.
  • Investigate complaints from the public and other agencies regarding animals that are stray, uncontrolled, abused, dangerous, wild or diseased; investigate animal bites, arrange for proper identification and quarantining; approve and monitor home quarantine of biting animals in accordance with regulations.
  • Explain laws and regulations to the public relating to the care and control of animals, filing of complaints, and the operations and authorities of the animal shelter.
  • Issue citations and warning notices for violations of applicable regulations; investigates problems through interviews and evidence collection; testifies in court regarding citations and monitors disposition of complaints.
  • Assist other agencies and City departments in animal control and handling, including searches, evictions and other emergencies.

Experience and Training Guidelines

  • Basic species and breed identification for a variety of domestic and wild animals.
  • Symptoms and behaviors associated with rabies and other common animal diseases.
  • Approved euthanasia methods and procedures, including the use of controlled substances.

Job Summary

Performs the functions of law enforcement necessary to maintain public peace, protect life and property, prevent crime, apprehend violators of the law and otherwise assure proper enforcement of the laws and ordinances of the City of Kirkland and the State of Washington.

Principal Accountabilities
The Police Department works shift work of varied hours depending on assignment. Officer's work with current technology such as in car computer systems and computer aided dispatch. Officers are generally assigned to one person patrol cars, but may be assigned to collateral duties or assignments depending on department needs.

Essential Duties
  • Contributes to the preservation of peace and protection of life and property by patrolling an assigned area primarily by car, and occasionally on foot, bicycle or motorcycle. Responds to a wide variety of calls and complaints to include misdemeanors and felonies and civil issues.
  • Contributes to the apprehension of criminal suspects by conducting preliminary and follow-up investigations. This would involve contacting and interviewing witnesses and victims of a crime; sketching & photographing a crime scene; dusting for latent fingerprints; and collecting other evidence and preserving the chain of evidence. The position prepares criminal investigation reports and testifies in court.
  • Contributes to the smooth and safe movement of traffic on City streets by performing traffic and parking enforcement functions. This would include observing traffic movement, operating radar speed detection units, directing traffic, and issuing traffic citations.
  • Contributes to understanding the cause of traffic accidents by conducting accident investigations. Attempts to determine the cause (driver error or mechanical failure) of the accident.
  • Contributes to the enforcement of City laws and ordinances by apprehending violators. The subduing and arresting of violators could range from simply advising the suspect that he/she is under arrest to a physical confrontation involving the use of force up to and including the use of a firearm. Once suspect is in custody, a complete booking procedure will be followed.
  • Contributes to the prevention of crime by giving talks; maintaining a high degree of visibility. This involves knowing the layout of City streets; extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and municipal law; patrolling key problem areas; and knowing the routines of the City and its citizens in order to identify unusual or abnormal activities.
  • Contributes to a favorable image of the Department.
  • The position performs various other duties as assigned, including the transportation of prisoners to court or medical facilities; serving misdemeanor and felony warrants for arrest; and maintaining security in the jail area.

Minimum Qualifications

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

The working environment is characterized by the potential for physical, verbal and psychological assault by prisoners or individuals suspected of crime. Dependent on assignment and task, the work period may be eight to twelve hours a day. Other physical activities include, but are not limited to, operating a patrol vehicle, walking, running, or sitting at a workstation performing administrative tasks. The scope of work performed has the potential for other physical or cardiovascular exertion in the performance of duties. Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions and adverse conditions. Assignments may include but are not limited to Patrol, Investigations, Traffic, Training, Neighborhood Resource Officer, School Resource Officer, Pro-Act Unit, and K-9 after at least 12 months in patrol.

Collateral duty assignments available to commissioned officers are: Special Response Team, Crisis Negotiations Team, Firearms Training Unit, Less Lethal Training Unit, Defensive Tactics, Bicycle Patrol, and Foot Patrol.

Hours of Work

Must be available to work 8 or 10 hour rotating shifts.

Patrol Officers work four 10 hour shifts, followed by three days off. Officers work Monday - Thursday or Thursday - Sunday. Available shifts are days, swing, and nights, and are bid by seniority.
