The Systems Engineering, Integrated Systems Department is seeking a Systems Engineering Technical Lead for the NASAMS product line. This role requires strong technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class air and missile defense systems.
The Integrated Systems Department supports Raytheon by providing world-class weapon systems engineering. Domain expertise includes radar systems, effector systems, battle management, command and control, network design, battlespace integration, and interoperability for both domestic and international customers.
You will work alongside motivated engineers who are responsible for conducting systems engineering studies and trades; supporting system requirements definition and analysis; and contributing to algorithm development, integration, test, and evaluation.
What You Will Do
Provide technical oversight and management for a variety of Systems Engineering efforts
Concept and requirements development (including decomposition and flowdown) within a mature product-line
Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development and design
Algorithm optimization and development
Multi-disciplinary development efforts across the kill-chain for an Air and Missile Defense System
Collaboration with customer to bring new capabilities to the warfighter
Functional analysis of real world and test data; trade studies to bring advanced features to fielded system
Support and lead Internal and External Program and Design Reviews
Collaborate with other IPT/CPT leads from the various functions and products
Support and lead Internal Research and Development for future capability upgrades
System integration and test support, including live fire test events
Periods of travel up to 25% of time both domestically and internationally
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
Experience with Air Defense Systems in systems engineering roles supporting development or production

What You Will Do:
Utilizing strong mechanical hardware design experience and knowledge with ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, and electronics integration
Supporting all phases of programs from capture and concept development through production
Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of electronics for multiple military programs

Position Responsibilities:
- Participate and/or leads in developing air vehicle requirements for aeroelasticity including flutter, divergence, freeplay and rigidity
- Collaborate with the airframe & subsystems design and analysis engineers to generate integrated aero and structural models for flight vehicle analysis consistent with a Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment
- Perform analysis for flutter, divergence, aeroservoelasticity, freeplay and rigidity to support air vehicle design and stores integration
- Define allowable flight envelopes and operational limits
- Develop flight flutter test and ground vibration test plans
- Create finite element models and correlate to test results
- Perform ground and/or flight test programs, by the development of test requirements, providing data for pre-test analysis, monitoring testing, data analysis anddocumenting results, in order to support design and verification of vehicle and components
- Review and approves airframe and subsystems hardware packages for flight worthiness and to ensure the air vehicle meets the service environment

How You'll Contribute:
A Media Sr Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for the scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction of a project throughout its entire lifecycle, from Initiation through Closing phases. However, the PM depends on the help of other people to perform most of the actual activities of the project. A project manager's role is primarily focused around written and verbal communication to all project stakeholders. The PM is responsible for overseeing and performing project management functions on all Broadcast projects, budgets, and scopes. The SPM will act as the person responsible for their assigned projects and have direct control over all project activities. Daily activities include project communications, scheduling, task lists for team participants, managing deliverables from the consulting team, and overseeing the completion of projects. The PM is responsible for completing consulting projects on time, on budget and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction from our customers. Most of this employee's time will be spent managing projects and communicating with all project stakeholders. This person will be helping to constantly improve the established Diversified processes. Complexity:
Every project is different, and project stakeholders are different. The SPM needs to negotiate a very complex set of variables between discovery, analysis, conceptual design, and a widely varying set of expectations with multiple stakeholders. The skill of communicating both verbally and in writing to manage all these variables takes a very high level of awareness, emotional intelligence, and people management skills. The PM is constantly managing the forces of change in every project environment. Balancing schedules, budgets, scope, quality, and client satisfaction are a very complex set of variables.
