Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing, the Treatment Nurse is responsible for the skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents’ attending physicians, or the Medical Director of the facility, with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders.
Qualifications:
- Current LPN license by State required with experience in the long term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
- Wound care or treatment certifications in the state where the specific duties are being performed is preferred but we will certify the right applicants.
Duties:
- Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
- Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
- Manage and treat specific skin disorders
- Coordinates weekly skin rounds
- Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection
- Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan
- Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
- Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning
- Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel

Additional state specific requirements:
• South Carolina – One (1) year of pediatrics experience
• California – One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license

• Medical Oncology RN - 2 years Registered Nurse experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology experience
• Ambulatory RN - 2 years experience with vital assessment, plan of care development, and telephone triage

• Peri-Operative Care RN - 2 years of Registered Nurse, preferably with oncology experience
