Job Overview:

This is a challenging opportunity that involves complete assembly, disassembly, test set up, adjustment, and inspection of aircraft engines and major components in accordance with assembly, test or engineering instructions, specifications, and drawings. You'll do set-up and operate a variety of standard and specialized tools and a variety of balance machines to perform all types of balancing operations.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Facilities, the Director of Engineering and Capital Projects is responsible for the programming planning, design, and construction of capital projects and physical improvements undertaken by The Jackson Laboratory, ensuring that they meet state and federal regulations and procedures and are effectively managed from concept through planning, design, bidding, construction, and up to occupancy. The Engineering Director leads the selection and hiring of consultants engaged by JAX for capital projects and physical improvements and oversees the work of consulting firms and in-house design staff throughout these projects. Boeing’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization has a rare opportunity available for an experienced Facilities Engineering Manager to join the East Region as a key member of this dynamic Leadership team, on-site in North Charleston, SC.

How you’ll make an impact:

You will support a talented team of engineers within the Projects, Assets, Construction, and Engineering (PACE) Center of Expertise (CoE), helping deliver solutions that sustain manufacturing operations and other mission-critical systems. In this role, you will contribute to enabling our business partners’ success by supporting reliable, high-performing infrastructure across our facilities.

The team you will serve operates across the Southeast Region, with sites in North Charleston, SC; Ladson, SC; and Orangeburg, SC. This position includes an expectation of approximately 25% domestic travel. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the engineering team’s goals and priorities, providing direction and oversight

• Design and implement process plans, policies, and procedures to achieve operational goals

• Secure and allocate resources for engineering work, oversee supplier technical performance, and drive process improvements

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, business partners, and direct reports

• Review and approve technical approaches, designs, products, and engineering processes

• Participate in equipment make/ buy evaluations and source selection, providing technical oversight of suppliers

• Coach, mentor, and motivate employees to develop skills, advance careers, and sustain high performance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an ABET accredited engineering field or equivalent

• 3+ years of experience leading projects and/or teams (i.e. Greenfield, Brownfield Projects)

• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Software Systems (CMMS) (i.e. Maximo or equivalent)

• Experience with oversight of budgets and financial data

• Experience in financial acumen

• Able to travel up to 25% domestically

The Boeing Missile & Weapon Systems division is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to oversee the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) software team in St. Charles, MO (St. Louis Metro Area). This Software Manager will lead multiple software teams in the SDB organization, which produces precision-guided weapon systems used by U.S. and allied forces worldwide.

• Manage software engineering team through the software development life cycle.
