Primary Purpose
Accountable for successful delivery of clients' statement of work within budget on clinical research projects, maintains a positive relationship with clients, supervises project leaders, mentors staff, and works collaboratively with Business Development to help generate new business.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for technical, scientific, fiscal, and overseeing of research projects working with staff from other verticals at Emmes responsible for research support activities, including but not limited to Clinical Operations, Statistical and Scientific Innovation, Regulatory Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance.
- Proactively assesses client expectations and addresses client's needs for ongoing studies/support and engages with clients for new opportunities in support of future studies.
- Reviews, provides input on, and approves project and study documents and processes, as needed.
- Represents the project or company at client meetings and scientific conferences.
- Utilizes broad understanding of therapeutic, clinical trial design, and/or process expertise to influence and executes project decisions considering client needs, budget considerations and the current state of the research field.
- Defines solutions with input from team members that will be implemented to meet client's needs that address contractual aspects of projects (e.g., project contracts, scope of work, budgets, subcontracts, vendor agreements) to ensure delivery of high-quality contract deliverables.
- Defines solutions with input from team members that will be implemented to mitigate risk and communicate risks and contingencies with clients.
- Approves initial budgets and statement of work documents and subsequent modifications before distribution to clients.
- Liaises with corporate services and leaders from other Emmes verticals and departments to ensure staff resources are adequate within the project team to successfully meet the client's requirements.
- Participates in project review meetings with TRU Directors and/or TRU Oversight, and Commercial and Service Project Oversight, if applicable.
- Uses established key performance metrics to assure successful delivery of the project that meet client requirements.
- Supervises, mentors, and supports lower level project leaders (if applicable) to ensure they are properly trained for their current positions and have growth and development opportunities.
- Mentors project staff from other verticals pursuing a Project Leader role within the Therapeutic and Research Units.
- Participates in relevant corporate meetings and provides information learned and best practices to project team as applicable. Implements relevant corporate initiatives directed towards Project Leaders and therapeutic research areas, taking into account project budget considerations.
- Provides support to the Chief Business Officer as a subject matter expert in a therapeutic or research area and discusses business opportunities with clients and study collaborators, as appropriate.
- Contributes to the development of operational strategy, budget, and proposal content for new business opportunities.
Qualifications
Education/Requirements
Project Leader: Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific discipline, with at least 8 years of experience within pharma and/or CRO; Master's degree with at least 6 years of experience within pharma and/or CRO; PhD with at least 3 years of experience within pharma and/or CRO
Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles of clinical trial management and operations with at least 3 years of management experience in a research environment
Prior CRO/clinical trial management of late-stage clinical trials preferred
Demonstrable track record of success delivering complex/high-priority clinical trials within the agreed time, quality, and cost
Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills, combined with sound business judgment
Ability to work proactively and effectively, with creative problem-solving and collaboration skills
Highly motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Strong cross-functional project management and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in therapeutic research areas that will align with Emmes' expertise, including substance use and mental health is strongly preferred

Position description
The Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified health science clinical faculty members at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor level to teach in the School of Optometry and Vision Science and/or Berkeley Optometry partner off-campus clinics, should an opening arise. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the department. The pool will remain in place for one calendar year; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply.
The responsibilities of the health science clinical faculty members include teaching optometric student clinicians in the patient care environment, performing direct patient care when student clinicians are unavailable both on or off the UC Berkeley campus, and/or teaching optometric student clinicians the basics of eye examinations sequence in the pre-clinical environment. They may also perform service to the school and community through education or various outreach programs on or off the UC Berkeley campus.
Appointees will be eligible for advancement through the ranks of the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series, based on performance in teaching, professional activity, scholarly and creative activity, and service.
The Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science has excellent clinical facilities and a large, diverse patient population. Over 70,000 patient visits are seen annually within our on campus clinic. About 65 optometry students are graduated annually. Salary range:
The compensation model varies depending upon the course delivery format. For a synchronous Live Online course, a reasonable estimate for this position is $3,000 -$4,000 total per course. For an asynchronous Start Anytime Online course, this position is paid $165 per final student course grade submitted each month; a reasonable estimate ranges from $660 - $21,285 total per course; and monthly payments typically begin within 6 months after the course start date. Instructor compensation is determined by course length, number of units, enrollment, budgetary considerations, and other factors.
Percent time:
Part-time by agreement on a course-by-course basis.

General Duties
The department seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy. Overview
The Clinical Project Manager will play a critical role in leading and supporting Clinical Information Systems (Clinical IS) initiatives across a large healthcare organization. This role focuses heavily on clinical applications and Epic-integrated projects, managing efforts from initiation through go-live and stabilization.
This position also supports clinical growth and infrastructure initiatives, requiring experience aligning clinical operations, facility readiness, and technology deployment.
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of clinical knowledge and project management experience, with the ability to communicate effectively across clinical teams, IT partners, vendors, construction/design teams, and executive leadership. Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Delivery
- Lead Clinical IS projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, go-live, and closeout.

The Project Manager – US Field Medical Capabilities will provide operational and project management support for the Medical Engagement Excellence (MedEngageX) team. This Project Manager will be responsible for a multi-year modernization project, which will be highly complex, require extensive change and vendor management skills, and experience with Microsoft DevOps. This role works closely with DTMB Agency Services management and technical teams, Agency business stakeholders and teams, and the Office Retirement Services (ORS) EPMO Program team in the delivery of the project while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
The Project Manager (PM) leads the modernization project team responsible for achieving the project objectives. The PM plans, manages, and communicates project activities ensuring the project is delivered according to the project scope, schedule, and budget as defined in the project charter. Adopting the ORS culture of collaboration across all teams will be integral to the success of this position and the project. ORS relies on Agile Scrum self-managed teams, which require a servant leader PM to be successful.
General responsibilities:
· Accountable for monitoring and communicating project progress by actively managing the cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.
· Understands business and technical objectives of a project and works closely with Product Owners.
· Accountable and responsible for clear, timely, and accurate communications with stakeholders, particularly the Modernization Steering Team, project team members, program manager, and Agency/DTMB management, on the status of the project, using appropriate communication methods.
· Accountable for efficient and effective ongoing communication with the vendor throughout the project lifecycle.

· Responsible for ensuring the project adheres to the Change Management process (Change Requests) when the project deviates from the approved scope, schedule, or budget. This includes ensuring all Change Requests have appropriate approval before action is taken or information is updated.
· Responsible for creating project Corrective Action Plans (CAP) when necessary for projects in yellow or red status.
· Responsible for understanding the project benefits and the impact of change requests to the benefits business cases. Responsible for ensuring related project artifacts are updated accordingly.
· Responsible for project team adherence to IT governance activities.
· Responsible for understanding project interdependencies and ensuring appropriate and timely discussions and actions occur when a project change may have an impact.
· Responsible for completion of the project tailoring process to determine the PMM and SEM deliverables for the project.
· Responsible for reviewing and understanding vendor contracts to actively manage the vendor deliverables and adherence to the vendor deliverable approval procedure.
