About You
As more real estate opportunities present themselves due to the ever-changing market in the Mid-Atlantic area, Wakefern, in conjunction with our Members, is investing in many new stores and remodel projects. Additionally, as Wakefern grows to meet these needs, our facilities also need to be expanded and re-configured to accommodate this growth.
This internship position is a great opportunity for a student majoring in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related fields to gain hands-on experience working with Wakefern's Engineering Division. In this position, the intern will assist the Engineering team in project management in our Retail Engineering Design Department.
Responsibilities:
Facilities Engineering / Design and Construction
- Assist Engineering in preparation of plans using AutoCAD
- Assist Engineering Personnel in surveys of existing sites and stores to verify existing conditions
- Assist in drafting of remodels or new sites, including parking lots and stores
- Coordinate scanning of existing paper drawings into electronic files
- Visit new sites to determine best layout for building, parking and truck docks as well as truck paths through the site.
Requirements:
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Some Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD file Software required
- Valid driver's license and flexibility with regard to travel required

Compensation and Benefits:
First year Facilities Engineering Interns will be paid at $17.00 per hour. Master Students and Returning Wakefern Supply Chain/Logistic Interns will be paid at $19.00 per hour. Responsibilities
Responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting/diagnosing, inspecting, and maintaining Reliable-designed mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electrical/avionics assemblies, harnesses, and interconnects

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Modify and improve critical components and program PLC for draw down process upgrades.
- Collaborate with the manifold team to assist with design, programming, and fabrication of CNC-milled components for diffusion bonding.

Definition
Under general and/or immediate supervision from higher level engineering staff, performs a variety of journey level technical drafting, office and field engineering work; and provides assistance and information to the public. May exercise functional and technical supervision over less experienced technical staff.
Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life: The Engineering Technician II performs routine drafting and technical engineering work in support of municipal infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include assisting with engineering design and planning, providing customer service, and performing technical office and field duties related to updating, maintaining, and analyzing the Public Works and Engineering Department's Geographic Information System (GIS) and utility infrastructure data. This position coordinates and conducts research, field data collection, and condition assessments of infrastructure assets, using GIS, database, and information management tools to support capital planning and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
Engineering Technician II -This is the full journey level in the Engineering Technician series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Engineering Technician I By the performance of the full range of duties as assigned including the moderately complex duties of drafting, office and field engineering work. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is flexibly staffed and is normally filled by advancement from the I level, or when filled from the outside, requires previous work experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Incumbent must have the ability to:
- Review and process tract maps, parcel maps, of line adjustments, grants of easement, and street right-of-ways for recordation.
- Verify fulfillment of conditions of approval for new subdivisions; perform on-site inspections to verify survey monuments related to parcel maps and lot line adjustments.
- Prepare and draft technical engineering plans for construction of streets, alleys, storm drains, water lines, and other public improvements.
- Provide public assistance at counter and over the telephone.

An expanding telecommunications infrastructure organization is seeking a Director of OSP Engineering to oversee the planning, design, and permitting of fiber network infrastructure. This leader will guide a team responsible for developing scalable network designs that support continued broadband expansion across multiple markets.
