About the Role
Title: Cost Estimator
Reporting to: Office Director
Salary Range: DOE
Overview
The Cost Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate construction cost estimates and managing cost control functions across multiple projects. This includes change order review, value analysis, and supporting feasibility studies. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities that add value to projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans
- Review and evaluate change orders and work-in-progress costs
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing analysis
- Support value engineering and cost optimization efforts
- Maintain cost databases and prepare reports
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders
- Assist with feasibility studies and bid analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- Experience in construction cost estimating (MEP experience a plus)
- Background in commercial, institutional, or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of conceptual and detailed estimating
- Experience with estimating software, takeoff tools, and BIM
- Knowledge of CMGC / GCCM processes preferred
- Professional certifications are a plus
