Steel America is seeking 2nd Class Inside Machinists experienced in Manual Machining and/or CNC Mills & Lathes to support operations in the Inside Machine Shop in Norfolk, VA.
Job Description:
- Examines blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Perform complex operations on various machine tools, including drill presses, lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and precision grinding machines.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Read precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
- Select standard materials required for fabrication and machining work.
- Perform the machining operations, watch for problems in the production process, and check the accuracy of the finished piece against blueprints / verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.

- Must have CNC Mills & Lathes experience as follows:
- Requires knowledge of some CNC programming with the ability to perform minor program edits on the shop floor. Requires more than CNC operation experience.
- Must have mechanical ability, manual dexterity, and hand/eye coordination required to perform various projects, per drawings, sketches, and verbal or written instructions.
- Must be familiar with the use of precision measuring instruments: outside/inside micrometers, depth mics, venires, etc.
- Must be able to write comprehensive Condition Found Reports (CFR) describing the material condition of the parts and assemblies being worked and recommendations for repair.
- Must be familiar with threading and the various measuring/gauging requirements.
- Must be skilled in the selection, set-up, and operation of the appropriate tool(s) for a given type of work.
- Must be able to work effectively with others.

Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled assembler to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands.
You must have desired technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to interpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all mechanical assembly operations of sub-assemblies and package assembly, all sensitive and very detailed assembly operations, some electrical, instrumentation and control elements of the package, and functional test set up including in-process quality checks and tests.?
- Performs disassembly and rebuild of air ends, or sensitive rotating assemblies.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents.?
- Takes responsibility for quality and work content performed in the applicable operation by signing off on the appropriate documentation prior to indexing to the next step in process.

Responsibilities: Follow Master Batch Records for the manufacturing of controlled, oral solid dose (OSD) and other dosage forms when required.
Prepare raw materials, blends, and bulk accountability throughout manufacturing processes.
Perform weight checks for incoming and dispensed materials ensuring compliance with established procedures.
Operate scales including set-up, verification, leveling, and challenging.
Identify, report, and resolve quality issues.

Servers check sections in the dining room for readiness for customers.
B.
Ensure that tables, booths, and chairs are clean.

All tables must have one placemats for each seat.
For example, 4 placemats on the table at a 4-top booth.
E.
All tables must have correct marketing materials, such as table tents.
Clean or replace any that are not clean.

II.
SEATING CUSTOMERS.
Servers are responsible for all aspects of customer service, including greeting customers at the door, and seating them at tables.
A.
Within 30 seconds of their arrival, Servers will greet customers at the door, at all times being friendly and professional.
All Servers are responsible for taking turns seating customers, so that all customers are greeted and seated within the 30 second standard.
B.
Determine how many customers are in the party, and which server's section is next in the rotation.
C.
Check for special needs of customers, such as a person in a wheelchair or using a walker or a person who may have a speech/hearing or visual impairment.
Also, consider special needs of groups with children who may need highchairs or boosters.

When customers are seated in a Server's section: A.
Servers will greet his/her tables within 2 minutes of the customers being seated.

Bring all serviceware to the table when you greet your customers at the table.
C.
Suggest an upgraded soft beverage or alcoholic beverage (to adults, at restaurants with alcoholic beverages.) Write down beverage orders.
D.
Explain the menu, and suggest customers order breadsticks or wings to start with while looking at the menu.
Write down appetizer order.
E.
Enter appetizer and beverage orders into SUS, the Point of Sale system.
F.
Prepare beverages, and deliver beverages, on tray, to customers' table.
G.
A certain protocol is maintained in this process in that the server is expected to pour the drinks if the customer orders a pitcher of drinks.
Serving drinks must be done within 3 minutes after taking the order.
H.
Suggestively sell specialty pizza and other menu items to customers.
Write down customers' orders, and suggest add-ons, such as salads, or breadsticks or wings to share.
I.
Enter entree orders into SUS, the Point of Sale system.
J.
Follow up at the table before the main entree arrives to determine if the guests need refills of their beverages or anything else before the order arrives.
K.
Prebus table of any dishes that the customer is finished with.
L.
Deliver the main entree to the table.
It is necessary to serve the first slice of pizza to the guest.
M.
Check back at the table to determine if everything is satisfactory and to sell additional food items.

and disposing of them in the correct receptacle for washing, wiping the table off using the hand towel and cleaning solution, and putting placemats and napkins on the table.

IV.
Servers also assist with answering phone calls, taking carryout and delivery orders, and respond to customers at the carryout counter and drive-thru window; locating carryout orders and cashing out carryout customers' orders.
VI.
Servers also perform sidework (such as slicing lemons for tea), as assigned by the Restaurant Management Team.
VII.
Servers are responsible for maintaining salad bar (in restaurants with salad bars), including refilling items by prescribed method as needed, straightening utensils, and generally keeping the salad bar cleaned and organized.
VIII.
At the end of the shift, Servers must ensure that their assigned section is clean and ready for service for the next shift, including:

Ensuring that tables, booths, and chairs are clean.
- B.
Cleaning dining room windows and carpet
- C.
Ensuring that all tables have one placemat for each seat.
For example, 4 placemats on the table at a 4-top booth.

Verifying that tables have correct condiments, and paper towels.

IX.
At the end of the shift, Servers must perform duties listed on an assigned clean up list obtained from the Manager on Duty.
Items on this list include tasks such as:

Filling salad bar by prescribed method (in restaurants with salad bars.)

Restocking server station.
- C.
Cleaning shelves.
Some are reached by use of a stepladder.

At the end of the day, Servers will perform closing tasks, as assigned by the Manager on Duty, such as:

The Role
We’re hiring a Warehouse Manager, Receiving & Inventory to own the inbound side of our warehouse operations.
This role ensures product arrives accurately, gets received cleanly, moves into the building efficiently, and stays organized in a way that supports the rest of the business. You’ll lead the receiving lane while partnering closely with fulfillment, production, and account teams to ensure inventory is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can run inbound warehouse operations while building the systems, processes, and operational clarity that allow the operation to scale. You should be comfortable working inside warehouse management systems and using modern tools, including AI, to improve workflows, reduce manual work, and strengthen inventory accuracy.
What You’ll Do
Receiving & Inbound Operations
- Own the day-to-day receiving process for inbound shipments from vendors, printers, and manufacturers
- Verify counts, SKUs, packaging, and condition of incoming product before it is accepted into inventory
- Oversee staging, labeling, and putaway to keep inbound product moving efficiently
- Identify shortages, damages, or discrepancies and coordinate resolution quickly
- Maintain a clean, organized receiving dock and staging area
Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Ensure inventory is received accurately in ShipHero and internal systems
- Oversee putaway standards, inventory organization, and location accuracy
- Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and discrepancy investigations
- Identify root causes of inventory issues and implement process improvements
Team Leadership
- Manage, train, and develop receiving and inventory-focused warehouse staff
- Set daily priorities and monitor productivity and accuracy
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management for the receiving lane
- Coordinate labor needs with fulfillment and warehouse leadership
Systems, Automation & Operational Tools
- Serve as the operational owner for inbound inventory workflows in ShipHero, ensuring products are received correctly and available to fulfillment quickly
- Use to track inbound shipments, operational tasks, and cross-team coordination
- Work with warehouse leadership to improve automation, workflows, and system integrations that reduce manual work and operational bottlenecks
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory visibility, inbound forecasting, and warehouse task management
- Maintain clean and reliable inventory data so fulfillment, production, and account teams have accurate visibility.
- Troubleshoot operational tools and coordinate with internal tech resources when issues arise
Cross-Team Coordination
- Communicate inbound shipment timing and inventory readiness to fulfillment and production teams
- Partner with account managers when incoming inventory affects launches, releases, or client orders
- Maintain and improve SOPs for receiving, inventory handling, and warehouse workflows
What You Bring
Required
- 3+ years of warehouse, receiving, logistics, or inventory operations experience
- Experience supervising or leading warehouse teams
- Strong attention to detail and operational organization
- Experience working inside warehouse management systems (WMS) and related operational software
- Strong computer fluency and ability to learn new operational tools quickly
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience with ShipHero or similar warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Experience using operational tools such as or similar workflow systems

Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR)The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) is a critical role for the successful operation of the Alterations department and completing tasks that contribute to providing superior customer service. The (CSR) is responsible for providing an A+ customer experience to David's Bridal customers. S/he reports to the Store Manager. The Alterations CSR is responsible for tasks that may include welcoming and servicing customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and/or ensuring that items are ready for pickups. - Meet all service vows including, Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There for all customers, includes all operational checklist task and meeting customers emotional and practical needs.

- Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.

- Build long-term relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups and first quality standards for all merchandise.
- Supports all cash wrap behaviors and processes transactions with accuracy to make sure every customer feels celebrated.
- Seeks assistance from the Alterations Manager to address customer issues that s/he is not able to resolve.

Position Summary
Sterling is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician with strong machining, fabrication, and design experience to join our team. This role will support engineering and production initiatives by designing, fabricating, and modifying components, fixtures, and tooling in a machine shop environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with extensive hands-on experience in tool and die making, manual machining, and fabrication, capable of working independently while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
This role will initially be hired as an Engineering Technician III, with the opportunity for promotion to Engineering Technician IV upon transition to a core employee.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and modify tools, fixtures, and custom components to support engineering and production operations.
- Operate and maintain manual machining equipment, including manual lathes, manual mills, and other machine shop tools.
- Perform tool and die making, precision machining, and fabrication work based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Utilize 3D modeling software to support design, prototyping, and process improvements.
- Develop and edit CNC programs using MasterCam when required to support machining operations.
- Create and present technical documentation, process updates, and project summaries using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, troubleshoot, and improve mechanical systems, tooling, and fabrication processes.
- Ensure work is performed independently, safely, and in accordance with machine shop best practices and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized machine shop environment and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a machine shop, tool and die, fabrication, or precision machining environment.
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Machining, Tool & Die, or related field.
- Experience supporting engineering prototyping, R&D, or manufacturing process development.
- Experience working in high-precision or prototype fabrication environments.
- Extensive experience operating manual lathes, manual mills, and other machine shop equipment.
- Strong background in tool and die making and custom fabrication.
