Overview

This position will act as a Supervisor role over the night shift Respiratory Care staff, including RC techs and RRT's. They will assist manager in interviewing, hiring, onboarding/training, scheduling, of new night shift staff and oversee job duties and performance for these staff. They will also be the primary staff ordering and monitoring usage of all Respiratory Care supplies and equipment.

Essential Functions

Individual will need the ability to coach, precept, and develop the night shift staff in both professionalism/behaviors and technical skills. Tracks inventories of medical equipment used in the department and works with manager to ensure proper levels are maintained.

Ensures equipment is clean, processed, and in proper working order at all times before leaving the shift; assures the department is clean and in an organized condition.

Functions as a role model in Respiratory Care demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, select technical skills and appropriate knowledge base.

Department Specific Job Function

Ensure new night shift staff have the support, knowledge skills, and resources needed to fulfill the job description. This would also include completion of all orientation check offs and required competencies.

Provides clinical support and assistance to the Respiratory Care staff.

Review night shift staffing with Manager and leader on call weekly.

Assist Manager in completing performance evaluations and check in's on night shift staff.

Ensure all code boxes are checked and stocked routinely.

Check consumable supply levels weekly and order supplies as needed. Make Manager aware of any back-orders.

Checks outdates on disinfectant tubs and ensures documentation of testing is done on schedule.

Performs any special projects that may come up or be assigned by the Manager.

Assists manager completing and monitoring payroll.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $37.82per hour - $65.05per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. To provide dependable and courteous transportation service of goods with safety as a top priority. - Reads email each day scheduled to work and follows through with assignment.

Quality Control

- Ensures that equipment is fully operational prior to each use, by checking for proper calibration and operating deficiencies.
- Sends all studies to PACS immediately after completion, prints CDs as needed.
- Follows infection control policies.

Operations

- Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains the department in clean and orderly condition.
- Transports patients, positions patients, and helps them on and off procedure table.
- Performs patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered.
- Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request as needed and routinely as time is available, without prompting, so that all working time is used for departmental advantage.
- Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel in accordance with procedure when warranted to ensure continuity and quality of services.
- Keeps supervisor informed on all responsibilities on an ongoing basis, ensuring prompt notification in the event of problems or potential problems.
- Maintains an individual productivity rate equal to other co-workers.
- Ability to operate all work stations associated with the US department.
- Ability to push / retrieve images from the Ultrasound console to PACS.
- Maintain Joint Commission standards and any other regulatory agency standards.
- Takes call when necessary

Equipment

- Reports problems regarding malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or service provider, so that problem can be corrected in a timely manner.
- Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment in accordance with infection control policy and department cleaning schedule.

Required Minimum Education

- High School Diploma General or GED General
- Trade School Diploma/Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

- All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
- Registered Medical Sonographer AND Reg Cardiac Sonographer - CCI or Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer
- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor

Required Minimum Experience

- Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography Preferred or
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program Preferred or
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program Preferred
