The Role
As a Founding Engineer at Straia, you'll work directly with a small team including directly with our CEO (Ryan), CTO (Alan) and CPO (Nikki) to design, build, and scale the core infrastructure of our platform.

What You'll Do
- Build the core platform — architect and implement services spanning data ingestion, query orchestration, and agentic AI workflows

Overview
The Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) Functional Lead owns the functional design, configuration, and delivery of the Dynamics 365 CE platform during a multiprogram implementation and ongoing operations. Salary range:
The compensation model varies depending upon the course delivery format. For a synchronous Live Online course, a reasonable estimate for this position is $1,500 - $3,600 total per course. For an asynchronous Fixed Date Online course, this position is paid $150 - $170 per enrolled student and a reasonable estimate ranges from $1,200 - $3,400 total per course. Compensation may be shared among co-instructors depending upon the percentage of course content that each co-instructor teaches. Instructor compensation is determined by course length, number of units, enrollment, budgetary considerations, and other factors.
Percent time:
Part-time by agreement on a course-by-course basis.
Anticipated start:

General Duties

The position involves close collaboration with 1-2 faculty members (depending on research interests) on empirical research projects related to digital technologies, advertising, and AI. You will contribute at all stages of the research process — from data collection and cleaning to analysis and writing. Some structural modelling or applied ML methods development may be involved if of interest.
Active and planned research projects include:
- The design of information for human-AI collaboration
- The impact of generative AI on worker productivity, task allocation, and organizational design
- The design of AI-driven hiring tools, such as optimizing voice-AI interviews for candidate screening
- Youth, social media, and smartphones
- The effects of AI on education and learning, including adaptive AI tutoring and path dependence in AI product rollout
- AI and wellbeing, including how generative AI tools affect individual and worker wellbeing
- Household and business surveys on electricity in Ghana
- Mechanization and preferences - marketing in 19th Century tea
- Measuring advertising effectiveness with aggregate data
- Experimental design under privacy constraints
- Identifying limits of targeting and personalization effectiveness
Methods used across these projects include randomized controlled trials, experiments, machine learning, natural language processing, large language models, probabilistic ML, and adaptive learning (bandits and Bayesian optimization).
A core goal of the position is to prepare you to apply to and succeed in PhD programs in marketing, economics, management, operations or related fields. We will work together to develop your research skills — beginning with careful research workflow and attention to detail, and progressing toward more independent analysis over time. We will also collaborate on other elements of your preparation, including independent research, letters of recommendation, and coursework planning. You will be encouraged to attend seminars and engage with the broader research community at MIT Sloan and across MIT.
You do not need to arrive with a polished skill set; the purpose of a predoc is to also help you develop that training. What matters most is a genuine interest in these research questions, a willingness to learn, and the determination to see difficult problems through.
Principal responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and manage large-scale quantitative and qualitative datasets across active research projects related to marketing, digital economics, and AI
- Conduct empirical analysis using methods such as causal inference, machine learning, NLP, and experimental design
- Contribute to all stages of the research process — from literature review and data collection through analysis and writing
- Design and implement surveys and experiments using tools such as Qualtrics and oTree
- Write, review, and maintain reproducible research code in Python, R, or Stata, including responsible use of AI coding tools
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree with strong grades, ideally in a quantitative field
- Comfort with or eagerness to learn programming (Python, R, or Stata) and experimental tools (Qualtrics, oTree)
- Willingness to experiment with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot) while maintaining a healthy skepticism — you should be prepared to understand and review every line of code these tools generate
- A long-term interest in pursuing a PhD in marketing, economics, management, operations, or a related field.
- A familiarity with causal inference or Bayesian statistics is welcome but not required
- Prior research experience is a plus but not a prerequisite
- Careful attention to detail — the kind of person who double-checks a merge and notices when a number doesn't look right
- Curiosity, initiative, and the persistence to work through open-ended problems
- The ability to work independently
- Visa sponsoring will not be available for this position. Candidates should have authorization to work in the US for the duration of the appointment.
The position is located at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The default start date is July 1, 2026, with some flexibility to begin earlier or later. Shopify & Website Optimization
- Maintain and optimize Shopify product pages (PDPs)

Description
The Enterprise IT Administrator is responsible for supporting and administering the core business systems that help power our client including ERP, CRM, CSM, and related operational platforms. While part of the broader IT organization, this role is dedicated to enabling and optimizing logistics and sales operations across NetSuite, ServiceNow, and Salesforce.
You will design, build, and support logistics‑focused solutions through scripting, automation, reporting, and system customization.
Success in this role requires deep expertise in supply chain logistics combined with strong technical proficiency. You should be able to create customizations for NetSuite, manage Boomi integrations, and design as well as administer tailored solutions that improve and optimize logistics, service, and sales operations
This position will be under the supervision of the Chief Technology Officer.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage, maintain, and support the daily operations of NetSuite (ERP) and integrated systems, including Adaptive, RF‑Smart (Warehouse/Shipping), Streamline, NetSuite Pay, TrueCommerce, and the Boomi Integration Platform.
- Administer ServiceNow Customer Service Management (CSM), including integrations that support the member services team.
- Administer Salesforce (CRM), ensuring reliable data flow and integration support for the internal sales organization.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute ERP/CRM/CSM enhancements and integration projects.
- Provide Tier‑2/Tier‑3 technical support for system issues related to ERP/CRM/CSM.
- Conduct system testing, integration validation, and QA processes to ensure new and updated solutions meet reliability, performance, and availability standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration, workflow, and data‑quality issues across all connected platforms.
- Identify ERP/CRM/CSM risks and recommend improvements to enhance system stability and operational resilience.
- Work closely with logistics, operations, sales, and service teams to understand processes, challenges, and system requirements.
- Translate business needs particularly supply chain and logistics workflows into technical specifications and system enhancements.
- Ensure all solutions align with operational standards and strategic objectives.
- Produce comprehensive documentation for ERP/CRM/CSM configurations, customizations, integration of workflows, and logistics processes.
- Create and maintain internal knowledge of assets to support continuity, onboarding, and cross‑team understanding.
- Deliver training sessions to ensure teams can effectively use EPR, CRM, and CSM system enhancements.
- Partner with managers to deliver logistics‑related technology initiatives on time and within scope.
- Provide clear, timely communication to leadership regarding system performance, risks, and upcoming changes.
Requirements
- NetSuite Administration: Strong hands‑on experience with NetSuite security models, role‑based permissions, customizations (SuiteScript, SuiteFlow), third‑party scripts/plugins, and data integrations.
- ServiceNow Administration: Experience managing ServiceNow CSM, including security configuration, custom workflows, integrations, and support for third‑party extensions.
- Salesforce Administration: Proficiency administering Salesforce CRM, including roles/permissions, custom objects, workflows, and integration management.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and logistics processes, including sales orders, purchase orders, invoicing, warehouse operations, and inventory receiving workflows.
- Ability to translate operational requirements into clear technical specifications and system enhancements.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve system, workflow, and integration issues across ERP/CRM/CSM environments.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and technical problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex cross‑system issues.
- Ability to clearly simplify, interpret, and document requirements from technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with logistics, operations, sales, and service teams.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- 2+ years of hands‑on NetSuite administration experience, including customizations, security/role management, and integration support.

- 1+ years of experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or logistics‑focused operational platforms.
