About the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech currently has over 625 undergraduate students, nearly 400 graduate students, and 55 tenure-track faculty members. Women comprise 50% of the undergraduate population, and more than 29% of the undergraduate student population identifies as a member of under-represented minority groups. Job Summary
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering () at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of Civil Engineering. Applicants will be considered at all ranks, with a preference for the Assistant Professor rank.
Responsibilities
CEE faculty are expected to lead independent research at the cutting edge of their field and build a strong, extramurally funded research program and national/international recognition. In addition, they are expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses, mentor a diverse student body, and conduct service to the school, institute, and profession.
Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate is required by the start of the appointment.

Baldwin Paving is currently seeking an experienced VP - Heavy Civil Estimating to join our team. This will be a full-time, salaried position. This position reports directly to our CEO and is based in-office in our Marietta, GA headquarters. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. Occasional work from home is possible after a few months in the role, but you must be based locally in the Metro Atlanta, GA area or be willing to relocate.
As our VP - Heavy Civil Estimating, you will be responsible for leading the estimating department for heavy civil roadway/transportation projects, including GDOT, local Municipal, and related transportation infrastructure projects. This role ensures accurate cost estimates, competitive bids, and compliance with company standards and client requirements. You will train, develop, and manage a team of estimators, oversee bid strategies, and collaborate with project managers and executives to secure profitable work. You will deliver consistent, competitive, and accurate estimates through detailed bids and review all bid packages before being submitted. You are typically involved in multiple projects at a time. In addition to having responsibility for the technical success and execution of the bidding process, you are also responsible for managing relationships with heavy civil department leaders and the Leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, train, develop, and manage the estimating team - providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback
- Develop and implement estimating procedures and best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency

Estimating and Bidding:
- Review Plans and Specifications to understand the scope of work.

As one of the leading construction firms in the nation, we are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Civil Concrete Estimator (5+ years of experience preferable) to join our cost engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction procedures, excellent attention to detail, and a strong grasp of current market rates.
Responsibilities
As a Heavy Civil Concrete Estimator, you will play a key role in the success of our construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to develop accurate and reliable estimates for the concrete scope. Specific duties include:
- Interpret and analyze blueprints and design documents to prepare quantity estimates
- Estimating the quantity and cost of materials needed for concrete construction projects and related expenses
- Soliciting and evaluating bids from suppliers and subcontractors
- Assessing the cost-effectiveness of products, services, or projects and estimating profitability
- Preparing, negotiating, and reviewing cost estimates and proposals
- Consulting with industry experts to resolve cost discrepancies
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or a closely related field
- 5+ years of experience in concrete estimating, with a focus on Department of Transportation (DOT) projects including civil projects, public works, schools, industrial, tilt-wall, mid-rise, and high-rise developments
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry practices
- Proficiency in estimating software such as OST, Excel, and HCSS

- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities

As our Civil Engineer / Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical supporting role in the successful execution of our development projects and function as the bridge between design and delivery. You will ensure our projects are not only structurally sound and compliant with local codes, but delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in scheduling and coordinating all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design coordination, permitting, and construction
- Review and interpret engineering plans, site layouts, grading, drainage, and utility designs to ensure compliance with local regulations and project specifications
- Coordinate with architects, surveyors, engineers, consultants, contractors, and government agencies to support project progress and secure permits and approvals
- Oversee site inspections, monitor construction progress, and troubleshoot day-day field issues
- Track budgets, prepare progress reports, schedules, cost forecasts, and help manage subcontractor performance
- Ensure all work meets code requirements, environmental regulations, and internal QC standards
- Assist in reviewing Change Orders and Pay Applications, ensuring alignment with contract terms
- Assist with resolving on-site issues, including technical questions, design discrepancies, and coordination challenges
- Support communication with lenders, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Prepare project documentation, including meeting minutes and ad-hoc reports
- Support value-engineering initiatives to optimize cost, schedule, and design without compromising quality
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Project Team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (U.S. accredited program preferred – EIT or PE license)
- Minimum 3-5+ years of relevant experience in real estate development or construction management
- Strong understanding of site development, grading, drainage, utilities, construction, permitting, and project coordination
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore or similar PM and / or scheduling tool(s), and construction management and billing management software
- Excellent communication skills for working with contractors, vendors, consultants, city officials, and internal teams
- Familiarity with budgeting, scheduling, and cost control processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Language Requirements
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (required)
- Cantonese is a plus (not required)
