The company is growing and looking for a full-time, Technical Designer to join the Childrenswear team on-site at the Midtown Manhattan office.


Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple product categories (tops, dresses, skirts, pants, athleisure, sweaters, sleepwear) for Girls and Boys divisions (sizes 2T–16) Knits and Wovens.
  • Accurately measure Fit/PP/TOP samples
  • Attend fit sessions and take detailed notes
  • Responsible for identifying and calling out any fit/construction/workmanship issues to be addressed and communicating all corrections and revisions to factory
  • Create initial tech packs for costing and fit sample submits
  • Ensure all corrections have been made at the pre-production sample stage to perfect the fit/quality for production.
  • Work with Private label accounts to achieve desired fit
  • Knowledge of Children’s apparel safety regulations and standards
  • Knowledge of grading and ability to issue graded specs
  • Communicate with factories daily to send fit comments/tech packs and resolve any issues/advise on questions
  • Ability to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met
  • Track and manage sample status
  • Assist with keeping sample library organized
  • Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, production, and sales.

  • Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design
  • 5+ years experience in Technical Design
  • Knowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing, and fabrics.
  • Proficient in PLM and Excel

Responsibilities
- Help lead and supervise factory production

YOUR IMPACT

Qualifications

A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program is required; minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Respiratory Therapists must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of equipment utilized in their department. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care. Must complete orientations, competency validations, and other in-servicing as required by the department and hospital.

Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.

Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Must obtain site-specific specialty credential(s) such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), etc.

JOB TITLE: Fit Technician for Children's Apparel


· Spec and fit approvals for pre-production, final production samples from out-sourcing makers.

· Work with designers, production coordinator for fitting and construction comments.

· Write comments about garment construction, pattern sewing and decoration placements.

· Measure fit/pp samples

· Create final graded size spec. Follow each customer’s requirement.

· Assist designer for new design style & initial specs.

· Coordinate same size spec for each type of knit and woven body.



QUALIFICATIONS


- Formal education in Pattern Making and Apparel Production.

- Knowledge of Fabric and Garment Construction.

- Minimum of 7 years experience in Children apparel companies that focus mainly on girls’ size apparel.

- PC proficiency with Word and Excel.

- Must have strong sense of fashion and trends

- Must be organized and a strong team player
