This position functions as a skilled technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair.

Responsibilities

Performs work as outlined on repair order such as oil change, tune-ups, checking/replacing fluid levels and tire rotation with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair with use of testing and diagnostic equipment.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended using checklists.Communicates with service advisor and customers immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. The Mercy registered nurse must hold an active license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa. · Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.

· Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.

· Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).

· Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.

· Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.

· Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, MA Lead or as requested by healthcare provider(s).

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate of AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.

EXPERIENCE

Clinical group experience in behavioral health is preferred.

LICENSURE

Current Connecticut licensure in occupational therapy assistant or demonstrated eligibility. NBCOT certified required. All newly hired employees must have current BLS certification or obtain within one month of hire.

SPECIAL SKILLS

The worker must be able to stand, walk, talk, hear, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, climb and perform repetitive motions, of the wrist, fingers or hands. The worker is subject to inside environmental/atmospheric conditions such as poor ventilation and is also subject to hazards, such as exposure to chemicals. The worker must be able to operate various exercise equipment, whirlpools, ultrasound and electrical stimulation equipment. The worker must be able to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and /or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to, 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects or the human body. Functions with or without the assistance of reasonable accommodation as determined on a case by case basis.

HOURS: Per diem/As needed.
